If you follow me you'll know that I've been making samplers.

Samplers use 3 x 3 squares and larger 6 1/4 x 3 rectangles.

For the next 10 days in February I'll post a project every day that uses one of these squares or rectangles in a different way (cards, gift card holders, Lindt Bar wrappers and more!)

Today I'm making a gift card holder and using a 3 x 3 square - this square was created by my team mate Cathy Jones in Maine.

This gift card holder or treat package can stand up (due to the mountain fold in the middle.

Cut the paper 9” x 3 1/2”- check the direction of your paper!

My paper does not have a direction so it didn't worry me.

Score at 1”, 4 ½”, 5” and 5 ½”

Round the ends of the front flap with a trio punch

Fold and burnish with a bone folder, making a mountain fold (a W) along the 5” (the 12.5cm) score line (see photo).

Color the clip (I bought mine on Amazon) with the Daffodil Delight Blend (alcohol marker)

Add a glue dot to the clip and add a bow.

Now decorate it with one of your sampler squares

Add a card inside the holder (another 3 x 3 square!)

and a greeting.

The clip holds the holder closed but also holds the gift card.  (or you can secure the gift card with a glue dot.

Will you make one??

All the products are available in my online store (click on the shopping cart) .. except the bee paper which is FREE with a $50 order!  email me with questions MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com
