High Tide Coasters

Hi Crafters -- well we have stamped on fabric, glass, wax, cookies and now tile!   What do you think?

The set is High Tide.

Do prefer the one with the sentiment or just the birds and sand?

The coasters are either from Home Depot or Lowes - or Amazon.  And Amazon also sells the cork backing for the coasters.  All you need is the tile, Stazon Ink, Krylon Clear Gloss Coat (it's a spray can) and a cork backing.  Super Easy.

I thought these might make nice little gifts.  Shall we make some this summer? There is a new set (bundle in fact) that has a nautical theme that would work well for this project.  Stay tuned!

April Paper Pumpkin - a winner

Well I said I'd post some alternatives but instead I made the cards and added only a few extras.

One idea I had was to insert a sheet of vellum inside the cards.  I secured it with the twine a single glue dot. I added the flower stamp (let it dry a good 10 min or use a heat tool).  I love elevating the card with this sheet (cut 6 x 4 folded in half).

And I made the box.  This is really pretty and yes all 9 cards and envelopes fit into the box. A great present or a nice stash of cards to have on hand.

This is a perfect set for a beginner, you really don't need anything else (except adhesive) to make these cards and while it's great to be inspired by alternatives, it's great when the box works just as you want it to.

Refills are $9 and I'll be stocking up on this one.  Also... if you have the Itty Bitty Greetings set, this would be perfect to fit the size of the die cuts.

Next month Paper Pumpkin is designed by the founder Shelli Gardener and I bet it will be great. If you'd like a box it's $20 a month and you can buy just 1 month, or several months - so no obligation - just as you wish.  You must sign up by the 10th (and I recommend the 9th, just in case!)

And this is a 3min video if you'd like to see a peak - to see colors, the flowers, birds, and a nest.  8  cards and other surprises is what we were told.

It's creative escape, usually it takes me around just under and hour to make up all the projects (and then I dither as I think, shall I do something different?).

Don't forget - the 10th of the month is the deadline.

Love what you do

It's a beautiful day here!

Check out this fun fold card from my friend and teammate Joanne Starbuck.

I love it.  Let me show you a few more photos so you can see how she made it.

It's a notecard (so the message goes on the back).

Here's a quick "how-to".   Base card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (she used Tranquil Tide - get this now, it will be gone by June 1), she covered it with designer paper 5 1/4 x 4.

For the front folding card, cut 11 x 4 1/4. Score at 1 1/2, 3, 5 1/2, 8.  Add designer paper - Joanne uses panels that were all 1/4" smaller on 4 sides of each panel.

The stamping is from the set "love what you do".  I love the big "splotch" image!

And here's a final photo - you could use the front pocket to put in a gift card or invitation!  So a versatile fun fold.

I received this card as a "forward-swap".. what that means is I commented on Joanne's post on our team page (so she was the prior post), and she sends me a card, and whoever comments on my post, I send them a card.  Here's what I sent to Joy my team mate!
Click here to see Joy's card

So it's a fun way to connect with our team that is all over the country.

Nice people stamp.  And our team is full of nice people that are also super talented.  Many of our team mates are hobby stampers and join to get 20% off all their Stampin Up supplies... just about all of us joined for that reason and some of us then turn it into a business or a job-by or a fundraising event.  $99 to join, choose $125, no further obligations, nothing else to do.  Happy to answer questions.

For the first 5 people to send me an email MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com I'll put a card in the mail to you!  How fun to get "real mail"!

Everything is Rosy "mega bundle"

Stampin Up is releasing an "Everything is Rosy Medley" which is a mega bundle (that's my name for it anyway!)

It's a bundle of stamps, dies, 6x6 paper, foil paper, 2 rolls of ribbon, die cuts and embellishments.  It is $80 and when I added up the items I think if they were sold individually it would be about $100.

Navy, Melon Mambo and Rose gold - a stunning combination.

The fonts in the stamp set are just gorgeous. 18 stamps photo polymer.

Here's a short video so you can see all of the items.

It is available ONLY in May 2019 and ordering begins May 1st.  Talking with other demonstrators who saw and touched this product at OnStage, we think it will sell out pretty quickly.  So if this is on your wish list, I'd aim to order very early in May.

If you'd like a flyer with all the details please email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Hope your world is Rosy today and all month long, MaryKate

Incredible Like You Joy

We have a fun crafting team.  Our recent challenge was to send "happy mail" to a team mate.  Just a card to say hello.

Here's mine for my teammate Joy.

The Gold Foil cards (20 cards, 20 envelopes) make crafting easy and wow. I added some pretty Floral romance paper (retiring, so if you love it, I'd get it fast!), about 20" of twine, and then a sentiment from the set Incredible Like You (available til June 1), and some leaves with the leaf punch are tucked in. I used both vellum and matching Pear Pizzazz.  The vellum is hard to see in the photo but in person it really looks pretty and I think brings out the paper design.

Punches make crafting easy and cards pretty.  The punch for the sentiment is "storytelling punch" available June 1st and the flower is from the Blooms punch set (4 small punches), available now until June 1st

To make the "shadow" (or background for the sentiment, punch out the same shape in Pear Pizzazz (matching paper), cut in half and glue each half to the back of the greeting.

It's a simple card but I hope Joy likes getting it.

Want to join our crafting fun?  The starter kit is $99 and you choose $125 of whatever you wish. You then have an account and get 20% off all your Stampin Up products. If you spend $300 every 3 months, your account stays open, if not, it closes.  No obligations at all beyond your initial $99 for the Starter kit.  All the fun, only products you choose and a great team.

If you have questions, I'm here to answer them, MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

A Piece of Cake - in-person and online class to go

Who doesn't need birthday cards?

This "piece of cake" bundle is a great stamp and punch set to make birthday, wedding and celebration cards and treat holders.

My class includes supplies to make all these projects: 4 notecards (with envelopes), a card holder, a triangle treat and the stamp set and punch, it's $40 in person and $48 shipped to your door.  There are many options for cards and you can mix and match the options.

Yes all the ribbon and glitter dot embellishments are included.  And the holder will be embossed for you (so you don't need a Big Shot or an embossing folder for this project).

You will get a 15 page full color instruction set.

You will need coloring tools:  you could use markers, blends, watercolor pencils.  If you wish to upgrade I have 3 options:

4 blends (Daffodil, Bermuda bay, Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape - all dark) add $20 to your total

Watercolor pencils and a blender pen add $20 to your total

5 2018-2020 In-Color markers add $20 to your total

The only thing I assume you'll have is black ink to match your coloring option, adhesive and clear blocks for your stamps.  If you don't have ink and a block, just add $10 to your order.

Let me know if you have questions or wish to place an order, just email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I'll follow up with answers and/or a PayPal Invoice (you don't need a PayPal account to pay, super easy, just needs a credit or debit card, a secure pay system).

April 2019 Paper Pumpkin

Hello crafters -- I just got my April 2019 Paper Pumpkin - it's 9 cards and they are so pretty and versatile.

Here are the 3 cards made just as intended by the designers.

And some close ups of the cards.

Here you will see the lined envelopes (the pink one in the background, there's a yellow liner and pretty grey liner) and I just had to stamp the flower on the front of the envelope.

Later this week (after I've had my Paper Pumpkin box open for more than 20 min!) I'll post some alternative projects.  More to come!

If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber it is $20 a month for the box of supplies, includes stamps and inks (a great way to build a stash of stamps) and everything you need to create the projects.

Warning.... Paper Pumpkin is about to be $23 a month ... so if you are a month-month, you might want to consider a pre-paid subscription before the prices go up!

Retiring Lists

It's mid April and so it's time for the retiring lists -- that is all the products that Stampin Up will retire either by June 1st or when they sell out (and usually the sell-out-date is earlier than June 1).

There are 2 lists:

Click here for the retiring list from the Annual Catalog

Click here for the retiring list from the Occasions Catalog

Also a tip ... bundle pricing retires, but many of the bundle stamp sets and dies continue in the annual catalog.   If you have any questions, just email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I can help sort this out!

As always.. all the designer paper and almost all ribbons and embellishments retire - so if you have a favorite, I'd get this soon.  Once they are gone, they are gone.

Similarly the "In-Colors" for 2107-2019 also retire.  These are very pretty colors. Do you have re-inkers?  If so you can use these ink pads for as long as these re-inkers have the liquid for your ink pad.

Do you have a favorite?  I think I will miss lemon-lime twist the most!  But Granny Apple Green is a great substitute!

If you love these colors, don't forget to get the cardstock packs, re-inkers, embellishments and ribbon to match.

Happy crafting, MaryKate

Cards in the Mail - happy mail for me

Hi crafters

I received 2 pretty cards in the mail - happy mail!!  Both used the Butterfly Abounds dies.

This one is from Suzie Barnes. I like that the Butterflies have a foil background, can you see that holographic look?  And what a great use of the Envelope Punchboard (search on "punchboard" and you will get ideas and how-to's on this blog).

As usual, we will get a retiring list in the next week of so. However we were informed by Stampin Up that these butterflies dies will only be available until sold out. So if you're interested, I'd buy one sooner than later.  (My online store is always open, click on the cart, and if you put in the host code, free products are coming in the mail to you!)

And this one is from Dianne Morrison - truly a work of love! I'm not sure I'd do multiple of this, but I loved receiving it, along with her kind note.

Dianne and her friend Gail are both demonstrators and they came over to my house and we had lunch, crafted and the shopping.. my kind of day!

Thank you both for pretty cards. Happy stamping, MaryKate

Butterfly Gala Pouch and notecards

This is my final post of the Butterfly Gala Projects. I’m hosting live classes and have an online “to go” class, see the Events / Workshops tab or details below the project. You will get all supplies to make projects and all the measurements and detailed instructions.

4 notecards are inside the pouch. The pouch was originally designed by Di Barnes in Australia and I (and others) have made a few adaptations.

Each time I show this in class, people sit there and say .. that was truly 2 minutes to make, a few simple folds, and wow, it’s so cute.  Yes the ribbon and the front decoration is all included in your kit.

The cards are similar in design, you can use several greetings. I include all the circles (I used punches to create the circle layers) but it works fine with ovals or square (if you have those dies or punches).

Your kit will have supplies for 4 notecards - in Daffodil, Lemon-Lime, Heather and this one Balmy Blue

I love notecards, a little less to write inside and all cut and scored ready for you.  Lots of ribbon choices for the pouch, you can see a lot of ribbons would work well for this project.

This is a live in-person class in Pittsfield ME May 18 and in-person on Anna Maria Florida May 10.

It is also an online to go class for the month of May. You buy the stamp set and bundle and it is delivered to your door with all of these projects ready for you to create along with a full color detailed step by step tutorial.  Everything you need in one bundle!  Class is $40 in person and $48 delivered to your door to cover the Post Office charges.

Email me for details MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com.  Just add ink – you can do all the projects with black ink or choose the matching colors.

Butterfly Gala Cards

All week long I’ll be posting Butterfly Gala Projects. I’m hosting live classes and have an online “to go” class, see the Events / Workshops tab or details below the project. You will get all supplies to make projects and all the measurements and detailed instructions.

Two cards inspired by Stampin Up

This cute card was right from the catalog. Super fun use of the gingham paper.  Stamp a greeting, add some twine and a little butterfly (you can punch the butterfly from the designer paper) or I chose to stamp and color.

This one was inspired by the Stampin Up artists.  Designer paper on the back, a band of the black and white (the reverse of one of the butterfly papers) and the pearlized doily and a greeting.

This greeting is from “incredible like you”.   I wanted to show you versatile this design is.  Don’t forget to add leaves (made with 2 leaf punches – the “leaf” and the “sprig”). Twine bow just finishes it off.

This is a live in-person class in Pittsfield ME May 18 and in-person on Anna Maria Florida May 10.

It is also an online to go class for the month of May. Butterfly Gala Projects

All week long I’ll be posting Butterfly Gala Projects. I’m hosting live classes and have an online “to go” class, see the Events / Workshops tab or details below the project. You will get all supplies to make projects and all the measurements and detailed instructions.

A simple card that is easy to make into multiples.

You can stamp the butterflies and color them in, or I simply punched out butterflies from the matching paper.  This one has a layer of Highland Heather (which I embossed), then the designer paper, and a piece of vellum. The trick is to first adhere butterflies to the vellum, add dots. Now turn the vellum over and add dimensional where the butterflies are, so you won’t see how you secured the vellum from the front.

The hello and friend come from the Well Written/Well Said bundle, I love this set. So versatile.  I added glitter dots to match. Yes you will get the words and glitter dots, everything you need to make these projects that is part of this bundle.

Butterfly Gala Projects

All week long I’ll be posting Butterfly Gala Projects. I’m hosting live classes and have an online “to go” class, see the Events / Workshops tab or details below the project. You will get all supplies to make projects and all the measurements and detailed instructions.

These are 2 fun treat holders.  Quick and easy to make, perfect as party favors, Easter Basket stuffers or a small thank you gift.

The gable box is lustrous white and I chose to emboss it – pick any folder you have and run the box through the big shot – or leave it plain. I added ribbon, a thank you and butterflies.

The other treat holder can hold square chocolates, or a tea bag and if you don’t have the gusset to make it stand up it can hold a gift card.

A very simple project from a 6x6 piece of paper. Five folds, fill it, punch a hole, tie it up – you’re done.

These holders would both make great Teacher Appreciation gifts – coming the first week of May.

This is a live in-person class in Pittsfield ME May 18 and in-person on Anna Maria Florida May 10.

All week long I’ll be posting Butterfly Gala Projects. I’m hosting live classes and have an online “to go” class, see the Events / Workshops tab or details below the project. You will get all supplies to make projects and all the measurements and detailed instructions. The tutorial is about 4 pages just for this card (I want to be sure I'm super clear and this card is very easy!)

This card is a fun fold and inspired by Judy Iverlino’s cute Frog card.

Here's my version with the butterfly.

It’s 2 cards in one. Here are a few photos so you can see how it goes together.

Butterfly Gala Swap Card

When a new catalog comes out, our team does a swap. It's a way for us to get samples and ideas using new products

This card was created by Ruthie Graen and uses the Butterfly Gala set.

Our theme for this swap was #simplestamping and I think she naile

d it. This set really lends itself to easy stamping.

I love how she used just 2 colors of ink, and decorate the inside of her card.

If you want to see more of the amazing work Ruthie does, head to her facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/stampinarkansas/

I love our team - what fun we have. We are from around the country (guessing you figured out Ruthie is in Arkansas) and we are in FL, ME, ID, CA, WA, VT, CT, KS, MO, AR, IA, NE and I'm trying to remember all the states!!  Such fun to have these friendships.  I'd love you to join our team, the starter kit is awesome, pay $99 get $126 and a permanent 20% discount (sort of like my CostCo card but no annual membership!) no obligations, if you don't order $300 a quarter, your account drops, and that's ok.  All the fun, no serious commitment.  Don't hesitate to drop me an email at MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com with questions.

Every day next week - Monday through Friday - I'll be sharing 10 projects that I created with the Butterfly Gala set and punch. I have 2 in person classes (Pittsfield ME and Anna Maria Island FL) and an online "to go" class that I'll be offering for sale as of April 18 - so join me on my blog next week for these projects.
