Mosaic Mood - new specialty paper

I just received a "challenge" packet with this paper.  My team leader send outs some new paper (our new catalog starts June 4) and we make a card and post on our team page.

What do you think?

I went quick and easy - and used the Abstract Impressions greeting with this new paper called Mosaic Mood.

My card is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, the top layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and then the designer paper is cut 3x3 with the Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.

I didn't have coordinating ribbon so I got out my matching alcohol markers (Blends) and made it match!  The ribbon is 1/8 white sheet ribbon (retiring June 3 so if you like it.. order it quick before it goes).

The paper is gorgeous, it's a thicker card stock and 1 side has a shiny coating.  I had few pieces left over so I decorated my envelopes.

We will use this Stamp Set Abstract impressions June 2nd - local class is at my home in Hartland 2-4pm.  And we'll use this new paper later this summer at class.

This is such a fast and pretty card to make, I hope you make it!

Card Sketch Challenge

We have fun challenges where we are given a sketch and then using that as a guide we create a card.

Here's the sketch.

And here's mine in the Tropical Chic stamp set and paper.

And a few more from team mates this one uses the Everything is Rosy Medley by Missy Hall.  The Rosy bundle is a suite of products: stamps, designer paper, foil, ribbons --so much in one giant bundle -- if you like it, jump over to my store as it is available only in May, so only 1 more day!!

This one is from Cyndi Egli-Gira using the new Floral Essence Bundle and new In-Colors.

And from Tamara Bowers using the new Garden paper.  They all look so different!

The winner is from a random drawing and can choose a stamp set - and so many nice things in the new catalog!

I love the inspiration!  Happy stamping MaryKate

Notecard boxes

Here are the boxes I showed you yesterday made from supplies in the June "Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit.  They hold notecards which finish at 3 1/2 x 5.

Here's the box open.  It closes with magnets - so the ribbon is really to make it pretty.

The main box (that holds the cards) is 8 x 8 1/2 (the lid is a separate piece).  On the 8 1/2 side, score at 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 on the 8 side score at 1, 2, 6, 7.

See the photo so you can see where to cut.

Make sure to round the corners - I used the envelope punch board but there's a corner rounder punch too.  You'll need to round the part of the box that comes up (which will be covered by designer paper).

Do you see the small "tabs"?  These are adhered inside the box.  Now bring up the bottom flap (with the rounded corners and adhere to the front flaps.  Decorate the front with a piece 3 1/2 x 1 1/2.

Now made the lid, cut 7 x 4 scored on the long side 4 and 5". Burnish the folds. Round the corners.

Slip this inside your box and adhere the back flap down.

For the magnets, make sure they "stick" together, put a glue dot on the side that "sticks" and put it under the side flap.

Do this on both sides.  Now let the 2 magnets just naturally stick (mine are a bit out of line but don't worry they'll be covered up.  Put glue dots on top of these magnets. In the photo above I have magnets inside and then the ones you can see. Close the lid and press the magnets into the lid.  Now adhere the designer paper on the inside covering up the magnets.  The photo below show the magnets adhered and so now I need to add the designer paper.

Decorate the front and add ribbon.

The matching colors for this paper Pumpkin were Petal Pink and Pool Party - so I selected matching ribbon in these 2 colors.

A big thank you to Sam Donald in the UK - she made a similar box, I just rearranged the dimensions, decoration, ribbon to suite the Hugs paper pumpkin kit!

Grateful - for so much! Paper Pumpkin June 2019

I was crafting on Memorial Day and here's the first card I want to show you ... yes I feel grateful.

This Paper Pumpkin kit is lovely, it makes 12 cards.  Here is how the instructions suggest you create the cards.

There's a lot in the kit.  Supplies for 12 cards, with envelopes, die cuts, velvet ribbon (in the new Pretty Peacock Color), pink fuzzy twine and crumb cake fine twine.  The envelopes are pretty and can be made into cards.

I got several ideas from Rachel Tessman for card alternatives.

What do you think?

The 3 cards that use crumb cake all come from cutting up 1 card.

And this one is fun, it's an Easel Card so it can stand up.

They are notecard size (finish at 3 1/2 x 5) and so I made a box for them.  For the pattern on the outside, the pink is from a card base I cut up and the blue is from an envelope liner, I loved this pattern.

Ok this post is getting too long. Tomorrow I'll have 10 photos so you can see how the box goes together.  It closes with magnets so it's easy to open and close.  I made it in Very Vanilla so it would match the cards.

Happy crafting, gratefully yours, MaryKate

Follow Your Art new paper coming June 4

Our new catalog launches June 4 2019.  So my team mates and I are swapping cards. We make 8 identical cards and get 8 back. That way we have lots of ideas to show you when the catalog goes live.  Here's my swap.

I had to use this new paper "Follow Your Art" is a collection of fun crafty paper.

This card front 3 3/4 x 5 (on top of a regular card base) has a 3x3 piece of the designer paper on top of the coordinating Calypso Coral 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  I wrapped some of the twine that matches around the card and added the felt accent.

Inside it's a pop up card.

The long piece is 8 1/2 x 1 scored at 2 1/8, 4 1/4 and 6 3/8.  The "art" is from the same paper collection and is 1 1/4 x  1 1/4 on top of a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 square.  You adhere the square "art" pieces then attach inside at either end (not the middle so it pops).

Stamp inside and why not stamp your envelope?

A fun easy pop up card.  Every day I get happy mail in my mail box from my team.  I hope they liked this card as much as I like their cards!!

Animal Outing Welcome Card

My niece has happy news - a baby in September.

Here's my welcome card for her.

I used my watercolor pencils and the pretty designer paper that was for Valentines Day (doesn't look so Valentiny -here!)

Quick and Easy to make.  Base card is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, whisper white layer 5 x 3 3/4. Add 2 strips of 2" paper punched with the banner punch and a 2" stitched shape circle. A few seafoam sprigs and the lovely lipstick ribbon. (I didn't buy the dies, just snipped out the kangaroo).   I love this set, it's called Animal Outing and has a lot of possibilities.

If you shop, don't forget the host code, I have fun goodies for customers this month! Happy mail will come your way :)

Lovely words - easy cards!

Hello crafters - sorry to be away so long!  Life gets busy, you know how it is.

Here's a super quick card that is so pretty.  You die cut the words, cut a piece of designer paper 3 3/4 x 5, add to the silver edged foil card and voila, a pretty card!

This paper is retired but I know you have lots of gorgeous paper in your stash!

The dies are on sale for $16.20, click on my shopping cart and then head to clearance (I love Stampin Up products and I love them even more when they are sale :)

The silver edge foil cards are a staple in my craft room.  They look gorgeous and I love the matching envelopes, $9 for 20 cards/envelopes now... about to go to $10 in the new catalog.

Our current catalog retires June 3 so if there's something you want, I'd get it quick, once gone, they are gone.  You can click on "last chance products" and you'll see what is retiring.

I just got my box of catalogs so if don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to earn your business.  Send me an email MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I'll put one in the mail for you.

Happy stamping (oops there's no stamping on this card!)... happy crafting, MaryKate

PS You're just my type

I love this little typewriter and I'm sad this set will retire June 3.

I made a big pile of swaps last November with this set and just this weekend as I was making swaps for the upcoming new catalog, I thought I'd bring it out again!

Such a fun simple card to have on hand.  Good for a hello or a thank you, maybe a birthday.

To make this card, cut the base 3 3/4 x 5, stamp three of the "grungy" looking images (I stamped off in Coastal Cabana) then splatter with reinker mixed with water.  Add the sequin trim (ugh also retiring) with staples, then the typewriter.  Add to the silver foil edged cards (that are not retiring - yay!)

I had one of these typewriters in college and it did tend to splatter ink.  I thought the sequin trim reminded me of the old fashioned ribbons we used in these machines.

If you'd like a catalog, just email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com as I'm putting these in the mail in a week or so.  You can get all of these products in my inline store - just click on the shopping cart.

Abstract Impressions for Spring

I love this stamp set Abstract Impressions... I'll show you the stamp set at the end of this post.  I've had quite a few people say the case with images doesn't wow them but the projects do!

So here are our projects.  What do you think?

They are all made with 1 stamp set and 2 inks Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo.  It's #SimpleStamping

The card above looks like it has 3 pinks and to create this you stamp off twice for the lightest pink, stamp off once for the medium pink and then use it full strength for the dark pink.  And a little white 1/8" ribbon bow with a glue dot.

Yes I added a few embellishments and maybe a layer or two.  But these designs are so easy.  Everyone is an artist.

And they are quick to make.

Do you love the purse? It can hold a gift card, a post it note pad, a little mirror and lipstick - so many possibilities.

The set does include dies, and here are some projects with the 2 main dies - the flowers and the butterfly. Can you see the flowers above -it's white on white so a bit hard to see (right under the pink butterfly).

I've added some designer paper - but you can see it's so easy to make your own designer paper with this set.

I have a class in Florida this Friday May 10 and one in Maine on June 2.   email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott to RSVP for these classes.

Ok and the set with the dies.. here it is!

I have a class to go - the stamp set, 2 inks Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo and all the supplies to make these 7 projects including envelopes. All delivered to your door for $50 (includes tax and shipping). Again email me for details, questions or ordering.

Thanks for stopping by - happy spring crafting, MaryKate
