Card Buffet at Warsaw School in Pittsfield 2 28 17

I'm hosting a card buffet Tuesday 5-8pm at Warsaw in Pittsfield... LOTS to choose from!!  You make the 5 cards you want to make!   Make a stack of different birthday cards, thank you's, sympathy, hellos and more.  A great way to create cards from classes you may have missed.

Here's one that we will make... we all need to have lovely sympathy card on hand.   The top one is the larger card and the bottom is a smaller notecard size.

If you search on balloon or blast or beautiful on this site (search bar is the top right hand corner), you can see what we've been making and what will be available at the card buffet!

Let me know if you are a "yes" for 2/28 for card stock cutting and supplies, hope to see you tomorrow!

More Cool Treats

Every week we have a team challenge with either a sketch or a set of colors, here's mine... since the Cool Treats set was sitting out from class I used it and the Frozen Treats matching dies.

Not my best photography!  The sentiment says... "I hope your day is as sweet as you are".

Every one who enters gets a ticket and the winner is pulled from the hat (phew no creativity judgement here!!)

It's a great time to join the team.  Choose $125 in product, spend $99 (no shipping) and choose 2 free stamp sets (anything from any catalog - but I'd go for the pricey ones!!).

No obligation to buy anything else, no need to sell anything, just open an account and enjoy 20% off everything, and our fun team activities, creativity, friendship and ideas.  If you don't end up spending $300 every 3 months, you just drop your account.  Nothing further.  Easy Peasy.

Let me know if you want to join the fun... the 2 free stamp sets are on offer til March 31st.

High Tide

This set (High Tide) has my brain wizzing around thinking about new designs for my LL Bean bag.

This is such a great set.  I love how it has 2 step stamping for depth in the images.   I added a few dazzling diamonds on the ocean to make it sparkle.

The original LL Bean bag instructions are in the Ideas, Projects tab and are a free download.

I guess I’m just getting ready for spring!

Party Animal meets Balloon Adventures

This is a fun stamp set with matching dies.  We made 3 cards on Saturday.  I love the huge die that makes the big pop up inside the card.

This card is fun ... I used the die that was designed to be the balloon string as the ribbon on the front of the gift and I used the piece it was cut from to hold the gift card inside the card.

This card has a HUGE greeting on the inside and it uses my favorite of all the paper designs.

When I saw the mini ghiradeli chocolates in the same deep yellow (crushed curry), I thought they'd be a perfect favor
.

And I had to have a matching tag with the "open me already"! love that sentiment.

See page 4 and 5 in the catalog for more ideas and all the matching paper and ribbon.  The bundle is 10% (stamps and dies) and at $53 it puts you over the $50 hurdle to choose a Sale-A-Bration item.. .

Join us Feb 26 for Cool Treats and Feb 28 for a card buffet!

Cool Treats in a Kraft Bag - details, dimensions

The notecards and bag
The notecards are 7 x 10 folded (you buy them in a pack of 20 and they are cut, scored and come with envelopes).

Stamps/dies: Cool Treat Bundle
InksPool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso
Paper:  12 x 1 Cool Treat paper, half sheet or scraps of Whisper White for Stamping the treats, 3 pieces of 3 x 4 ½ Whisper White, 3 layer pieces in the matching inks cut 3 ¼ x 4 ¾ (I used pool party, peekaboo peach and blushing bride)
Washi Tape: Cool Treats
Kraft Bag (they come in a pack of 10)
Stitched Circle Framelit

Wrap 3 strips of washi around the 3 x 4 ½ Whisper White.  Stamp the greeting.  Stamp the treats, cut out with the dies.  Two step stamping makes these fun to layer color.  Add the treats with dimensions.  You could tie a bow with bakers twine (but I didn’t!).  Don’t forget an extra treat for the front of the bag!  You could stamp a greeting inside the cards.   And last, consider adding a strip of washi to your envelopes.

Put the cards and envelopes in the bag.  Fold the top of the bag over (you could trim the top if you wish).  Wrap the belly band around the bag, cover the join with the stitched framelit and a treat.

Do you have a favorite card?

Mine is the “you’re sweet” with 3 treats.  I just LOVE the waffle cone (2 dies layered on top of each other)

Cool Treats Frozen Treats

It’s snowing (again) today in Maine so I thought I’d make up some frozen treats!  We’ll be making this at class Monday Feb 13 6-730pm in Hartland (pls RSVP for a spot).

I’ll also be holding an ONLINE LIVE class Feb 25 3pm ET.  Class is free, the supplies are free (notecards, bag, belly band), just order the bundle and washi and use the host code (top right of this page).

I’ll mail out supplies, full color instructions, a link to a live meeting (with GoToMeeting) same day as you place your order!   You'll see me and my hands, and we'll craft together.

I'll post details, dimensions etc tomorrow and close up photos as well.

This is a fun set to play with.  So many cute treats.  Popsicles, soft serve, sundaes, ice blocks… I used the colors from the matching washi tape and paper stack (peek a boo peach, watermelon wonder, pear pizzazz, pool party, crumb cake).

The bag is one of the Kraft bags (10 for $3.50!) with a 1” strip of the matching paper.  I covered my belly band join with one of the stitched framelits and matched up the popsicle colors.

Sending Love Treat Bag

Fun class at Warsaw last night, thanks for braving the snow ladies!  This was one of our projects (now I wish I'd taken photos of everyone's different bags!)

Choose a 6x6 and a 3x6 piece (matching!) for the treat bag. Run the bag pieces through the big shot.  Adhere the sides and then the bottom flap.  I love this paper
You can decorate your treat bag or simply let the paper stand out.

If you wish:  Stamp a heart on a small piece of Whisper White.  Cut this out with the matching dies.  Or cut out the cute mini envelope.  Adhere your heart or envelope to the front of the bag.  Wrap Whisper White 1/8” grosgrain around the front of the bag and tie with a bow.

Create a card.  Real Red is 3 ½ x 5 and the Whisper White is 3 x 4 1/2. Stamp a greeting or hearts on the Whisper White.  I used the little love stamp.

Staple 4” of the grosgrain 1/8 ribbon (folded in half) to the real red piece about 3/8 from the top.  Adhere the Whisper White to the real red covering the staple.  The ribbon makes it easy to take out the card.

These thinlets include a lot of dies.  I love the way the bag goes together so quickly.  And this treat bag fits a Hershey bar!

Superbowl invitations with Large Letters

Woohoo it’s Super Bowl Weekend!!!  Can’t wait for the Big Game.

These invitations were fun to make and I love all the different foils and glimmer paper.  Do you have a favorite?  I think I like the silver foil best!   I used the Large Letter dies for the LI... I need to use these more often... maybe we'll make some personalized cards.

Ghirardelli Box with Heart Closure with Sending Love paper

Do you remember last summer when we created boxes that closed with a butterfly??  This is just like that but a mini version.  The closure is a hole made by the classic label punch.    This time it is with a heart (anything that is symmetrical and it's length is less than the hole opening works great!!)

Real Red 3 ½ x 8 ½
Scraps of Whisper White for the heart
2 ¼ square of the Sending Love Paper
Score the real red at ½ on each side of the short 3 ½” side
Score – with the long side on top – at 2 ½, 3, 5 ½, 6

Fold on the all the score lines with a bone folder
Trim the 4 “ ½ square tabs” off completely

Now create a slot for the closure on the front of the box.

Use the classic label punch (or your trimmer, or the retired word window punch) and make a hole.  I like to punch a shape out of a post it and then put the post it note on the front so I line it up well. Then I punch the post it shape out.

Now adhere the 2 ¼ square designer paper on the front. Turn the paper over and punch out the closure on the designer paper.

Trim the top two longer “tabs” from the front of the box (see yellow arrows!).  I don’t think my photos show this (sorry!)

Now glue the sides (I used tear and tape so you could see where I glued it but snail or white glue is just fine)

Now stamp a greeting and punch out with the heart punch.  Fold in half and adhere in the opening. I used Tombow white glue on the crease of the heart. and held it steady for a good 2 minutes J

I added some  silver hearts, you might add some rhinestones.  The box ends up 2 ½” square ½“ deep;.  Insert a Ghirardelli chocolate and give it away!

We did this at class last week - I hope you join us for our next class! Check out the classes by clicking the tab above "workshops and events".

Zee Fold Card with Lots of Love

Fold the card at the score lines so it makes a “zee”.

Adhere the designer panels (sides) to the solid panels (I used real red and melon mambo, to match the designer paper).  And then adhere one to the inside panel and to the front.

Stamp the creatures on the whisper white and the greeting love you lots.  You can either use markers or watercolor pencils (with or without the blender pen) for the creatures.  Maybe a bow on the hedgehog?   I used the grey pencil on the elephant.   Adhere this to the solid panel.

READ THIS PART…. Adhere the left side of the stamped panel to the front of the card.  So put glue ONLY on the left side of the card.  You know as you read this I’ve goofed on this and put glue all over J  don’t do this!!  See the photo to the right… the right side of this panel cannot be glued!!

Want to add a gift card?

Easy… Add another panel on the inside of the card, make sure you adhere down 3 sides and then the gift card fits in easily!

Do you like the lady bugs, hedgehogs, or the elephant mouse?  I think I’m a hedgehog fan!

Dimensions:
Whisper White 11 x 4 1/4 Score at 5 ½ and 2 ¾
Solid panels: 1 of 3 ½ x 2 ½ and 2 of 2 ¼ x 3 3/4
Whisper White:  3 ¼ x 2 1/4
Designer Paper panels: 2 x 3 1/2
