By the Dock Class

I live in Maine in the summer on a large lake (and in Florida in the winter on the ocean).  Right now I'm looking at my dock and our lake and it was all I needed for inspiration for this class.

This class we will make:

-a Zee fold (the designer paper is the Artistry Blooms reverse side) where the dock lines up with the boat, perfect for happy birthday, thank you or other greetings. One of the project options is to make your own lake background.

-Polaroid card using the Fluid watercolor paper, sponging techniques, watercolor pencils and a blender pen (in Very Vanilla.. time to get out this color!)

-a summer time tea light, from vellum, you can see it colored in on the right and not colored on the left, I'm still debating which I like more!

I'll be doing a few coloring classes on my Facebook page Tuesday June 30 5pm ET Facebook.com/SipCraftCare and Tuesday July 7th 5pm ET same place.  I'll show you how to color in vellum, cardstock, watercolor paper with watercolor pencils and a blender pen June 30 and then with sponges on July 7th.  Please join me!

If you'd like a class packet please email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com.

You get the stamps, dies, 3 projects (2 of each project, 6 total) with embellishments, envelopes, all the specialty paper, a blender pen and a sponge, delivered to your door, Priority Envelope, for $65.  You need inks and adhesive.

I'm doing this class with a family that lives near me on the lake and including a granddaughter in college in another state and a daughter in the National Guard also in another state, all by Zoom.  It's really special to craft with 3 generations from age 15 to (maybe?) 75?

Happy summer, happy stamping, MaryKate

Jar of Flowers Clothes Pin

I had a fun workshop yesterday and needed to whip up a decorated clothes pin!  I use these pins to show the card (or the card in progress) at a workshop.

Crafters like to see the finished product and when it's up a bit higher it's easier to see and then everyone gets used to "looking for the pin with the card".

I adhered a 2" strip of the paper (cut 2x6 as the paper is 6x6) and then cut a piece 2x3.  You don't see the join as I covered it with a big sunflower (from the back of the paper.

In fact it is 2 sunflowers, a bit scrunched up.  Underneath the flowers is about 12" of the Misty Blue  and Silver Twine - part of a great ribbon combo.

My friend Carla Blake make me a 12" pin that I loved so much... but for workshops I prefer the 9" tall pins.  I get mine on Amazon. Here it is plain... you can see why I like a little decoration!

A fun workshop - we made Jar of Flowers cards, treat packaging and a Memories and More card - I'm doing in person and online workshops - let me know if you want to gather!!

Happy stamping, MaryKate

PS - the pretty paper, twine, all the supplies are in my online store. Don't miss out on the extra $25 in free goodies this month, email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I can answer questions. Hope to see you soon, either in person (see my schedule, or at your workshop) or online!

Paper Pumpkin June 2020 A box of sunshine

Hi... here's a short video showing you this month's Paper Pumpkin

Usually I post my projects and alternatives... this month there will be delay as my Paper Pumpkin went to my FL address and I"m in Maine right now!!  I've updated my Paper Pumpkin profile so this won't happen again in July!

My box will arrive here ... but likely not for another week!

Also my team mate Susan pointed out that the Cute Fruit set pairs perfectly with this Paper Pumpkin!!  My post yesterday includes 5 cards and a video showing you how to create your own Cute Fruit designer paper and make the cards!

Have a sunshine-y day! MaryKate

Cute Fruit - #SimpleStamping

I have a fun free class coming to you tonight June 23 5pm on Facebook Live www.Facebook.com/SipCraftCare

Updated: here's a link to the video showing you how to make these cards. Click here to see the short video

We will make 5 fun Cute Fruit cards.

Cards 2, 3 and 4 are made by creating your own designer paper (I'll show you how with a few tips) and then cut into 6 cards.

The first (one in a melon top left) and last (smile with bananas, bottom left) are made "standalone".

We had so much fun creating on Saturday and I think you'll have a great time creating these cards. If you are interested I have 1 kit left. The $25 kit includes the stamp set and 11 projects (10 cards and the acetate box), add $8 if you need it shipped.  If you'd like the last one, let me know MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Happy summer stamping!

Laser-Cut Specialty Paper - Frosted Foliage White Side

Our team challenge is to use Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.   Click here to see the Specialty Paper and read about the challenge

I used the gold in that post (link above) and today I'm using the white (the other side of the paper).

It's 90 here in Maine today (that's hot for us!) so this is a bit crazy to create a winter holiday card, but the wreath die cut inspired me!

I love silver and blue - so I embossed branches from Frosted Foliage behind the wreath, then attached the wreath laser cut.  Then added the greeting from the same set in Navy punched with a 2" punch and added the 2 1/4" silver circle to the back. Matching Seaside ribbon (do you see the silver thread in this ribbon?)  A few dimensionals... and a few rhinestones!

What do you think?

I love the combination of Seaside Spray, Night of Navy and Silver.  There are such cool colors (on a hot day!)

Happy summer, stay cool, MaryKate

Sweet Treat Camp Parcel

Did you go to camp? Sleep away camp ... I did and loved it! So many fun memories. I loved getting parcels, so when my niece went to camp at age 11 I created parcels for her... right up until she was a counselor and now she's nearly finished college and this is the first year she will not be at camp.

I digress... so when my friend let me know her daughter was headed to sleep away camp, I knew she had to get parcels!!  You always want to hear your name at mail call :)

She's away only a week so that means just 2 parcels (and I have to hurry up as they are going from Maine to Idaho!).

Here's the first one -- a bundle of water balloons, camp decor, glow in the dark bracelets, a diary with a sparkly pen, a flashlight, snacks, Moose Poop, clips, scrunchies (we girls can never have enough) and I put in 4 small notecards (with stamps).

I thought you might like to see the cards and holder made with Sweet Treats - don't fall in love with the paper, it's retired but I thought perfect as it's cute and DSP makes it fast to make cards. I have 1 day to create 2 parcels!!

Here's a link on how to make the holder - very easy.
Click here to go to a post for the holder instructions

And here's my second parcel - it's a "Cookie Tasting and Crafting Afternoon" for her and her friends! A paper pumpkin with bright pretty colors (the May 2020 kit) and 4 flavors of Oreo's. I had no idea that Oreo's come in so many new flavors! This goes Saturday to arrives on Tuesday (latest Wednesday - who knows with post these days!)

And I added in a fun book on crafting.  She loves paper and yarn crafting.

I'll be sending a few cards as well.... it's important to win "mail call" at camp... and it's great when parcels arrive that are made for sharing!

Did you get camp parcels? What would you put into a camp parcel??

Happy crafting, happy summer, MaryKate

Team Challenge Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper - my "entries"

We have fun team challenges. I send out designer paper or a set of color or specialty paper and each person creates an entry, which might be a card or a box or tag or 3D item.

Right now we are playing with Specialty Gold Laser Cut Paper.  I like the gold but I must say I LOVE the white side (the other side)!

I made 2 cards, one with the gold elements and one with white and silver.  Here's my Gold elements card.

I stamped instead of using the fabulous Forever Fern designer paper (I had given all my away to my team as this was their last month's challenge!!).  So I looked out my window (I'm in Maine) and saw leaves and water is all colors green.  So I create the strip of water which is flat on the card, 1" x 5 1/4".   I added the strips of gold (these are the edges of the paper, I love scraps!) to the edges of the 2 white pieces (left is 1 1/4 x 5 1/4, the right is 2 1/4)

I dry embossed the right side of the white paper with the ferns.  The smile greeting is from the set "Lovely You".

My color choice came from the designer paper: Pretty Peacock, Sea Foam, Just Jade, Pear Pizzazz.

I used a few more of the scraps (edges of the paper) to decorate my envelope.

What a fun challenge. Tomorrow I'll post a completely different look using the white side of this fun paper.

Stay tuned for some posts from my team mates, they have until Monday to get their entries in to win some bling!!

Happy creating, MaryKate

Forever Blossoms - a ruby anniversary card with Peony paper

It's always fun to respond to a request to create a special card.

One of my team mates had a ruby 40th wedding anniversary and I created a few options for her husband.

I knew which one I preferred but I wanted him to have a choice.  Which do you think he picked (which do you like?)

Here's his pick (and it was mine too), with the Peony paper!  I embossed the designer paper (both the back layer (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) and also the paper for the back of the envelope.

Do you see the 2 rubies on the 2 flowers - they were from her husband and he wanted them to be part of the card.

He chose the inside greeting -- and the outside as well.

I'm so happy she loved it.  This set is a winner, gorgeous flower image with pretty sentiments.  Love it!!  It comes with dies (I didn't use them for this card - instead I used the stitched rectangle).

The stamp sets, dies, inks, paper -- and the matching ribbon of course - are all in my online store, happy shopping!

Artistry Hand-Drawn Blooms Celebrations

Our team had several personal celebrations last week.  Laurie celebrated a 40th (ruby) wedding anniversary and Cathy celebrated her 3rd anniversary with Stampin Up!

Of course cards were in order.  I turned to the suite Artistry Blooms including the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamps and dies.  I love this big bold die and the matching paper has a soft side with gradient color and a front bold side.

Here's one of several cards I made for Laurie's husband (at his request) to give her.  Tomorrow I'll post his final choice (not with the big die!) I wanted to incorporate a little ruby into the card and used a red rhinestone.

And here is Cathy's card with a little gift of champagne rhinestones.  This set has a big bold die and some smaller flowers.  The designer paper and stamps/dies below.

It's fun to celebrate together.  We have a super fun team of amazing stampers, some whom run a business like Cathy and many who enjoy their 20% discount on all products.  We have a great offer to join this month - usually it's choose $125 of any product and pay $99 (no shipping, just sales tax), and this month it is that PLUS a bundle, that is a stamp/punch or stamp/die bundle for free!! Wow!!

Beyond your starter kit, there are no obligations, you can your account open and be part of our fun group, or simply let it go.  We are a chill group!

Let me know if you have questions on the joining offer MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

I'd love to hear what you are celebrating, big or small, it's fun to pause and celebrate, and count our blessings,

stay well, happy stamping, MaryKate

A beautiful world stamp set

I have several projects coming your way with this fun set "Beautiful World". It has matching dies but you can do a lot with just the stamps.

The first is a quick thank you card.  I wanted something less feminine (so no flowers!) and I love this sentiment.

This person truly makes the world better, I so appreciate his positive community support and I'm grateful for his friendship.

Window cards are much easier than they look.  You create the base, and cut at 6 3/4 on the long side, keep this left over piece.  Attach the window to the inside with tear n tape.  Add the lower front panel.  Now make the inside look nice by covering the tear n tape with 2 panels cut ever so much smaller than the front panels.

The window card dimensions:
Base Mossy Meadow – start with 4 ¼ x 11, scored at 5 ½
Cut at 6 ¾
Make 2 pieces from the left over piece 4 ¼ x 2 and 4 ½ x 1 7/8
1 mossy meadow 1” x 4 ¼
Whisper White 4 x 5 ¼
Desiger Paper 4 x 1 ¾ and 4 x 1
Window sheet 4 x 5 ¼

I hope you try it.  Window cards have a wow factor but are super easy!  You can buy the stamp set and the window sheets (along with inks, tear n tape etc) in my online store. Don't forget the host code, as I have really great customer gifts coming to those that use this host code!
