Pleased as Punch cards

Punches are perfect crafting tools.

We have 4 fun punches to play with in the new catalog: the tulip, the heart duo, the umbrella and the flower.

My class last night had 2 punch projects (and another card using another Sale-A-Bration coordination item).

This is a big card finishes at either 5 3/8 square for display art or 6 x 6 for a card.   Perfect for my team mates putting on classes who are interested to show this great new punch paper (I just ordered more!).

Or just nice to make and keep or make and send.

The second card uses the same punch paper with a strip of the striped paper (the "b" side) and topped with a heart and flowers.

I have extra kits of both of these cards so for each order I get I'll put a kit in the mail to you to make both these great projects.  My online store is accessible by clicking the shopping cart! Don't forget the host code for extra free items!

Bonanza Buddies

I'm on the design team for Y Knot Stamp Everything this month and we are creating with this fun set!   I'll post 3 different projects this month on our page.

Here's my first inspired by a swap I got from Judy on the team.

It's a pop up card but it's a super simple one.

The base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 fold in half, and emboss the front (I used the subtle folder).

Cut out a square from this front (you don't use it in this project.
Cut an identical sized square from a coordinating color - I used coastal cabana.
Cut a slightly smaller square in white and decorate with these fun "buddies" and stamp some balloons. Attach it to the coastal cabana square.

Now make the inside.  Cut a Coastal Cabana piece 5 1/4 x 8 and score on the long side at 2, 4, 6.
Stamp on the last panel. Fold and burnish the folds. Attach a piece of designer paper 5 x 1 3/4 (love these balloons).
Now adhere this folded piece inside the card.   See the photo.

Now take the front square and fold the base closed.  Place the square in the hole (in the Mango Melody base) and glue it ONLY to the right side (so it pops out).

Really easy.  Tip .. glue the square ONLY to the right side (don't ask me how I know this!)

The fun triangle box came from my friend Janey Backer of Inspired Stamping. You can make this any size at all.

Here's a prior post with lots of photos.

Create a rectangle - mine was Coastal Cabana 4 x 8.  score in half on the long side.  Now mark the 4" side at the center (at the 2") and score a diagonal to the middle on both sides. Rotate your paper and do 2 more score lines. So you have 2 triangles.  Fold the box. Punch holes in the sides, add ribbon and some designer paper.

Here's the Stampin UP designer projects.

I love this bundle, what  wonderful gift from my upline Suzie Barnes at our Silver Elite dinner... this was in the beautiful bag. It was a super special night!  I'll be getting some photos of the night and as soon as I do I'll post all about our special dinner.

What a great team we have - design challenges, recognition, ideas, support, team silliness, travels... join us! $99 to join with a special extra deal of a free mini cutter!. You spend $99 and you get the mini-cutter, any stamp set of your choice, $125 of anything you choose and a Paper Pumpkin (and our team!)

Call email etc with questions or step into my online store if you'd like this great bundle (the host code will get you free goodies top right on this page) and the shopping cart takes you to the store.

Happy crafting, happy shopping!

Happy Birthday SAB Sets and Coordination Dies

February 4 we released a whole set of coordinating products that go with the free Sale-A-Bration (SAB) sets.  Lovely new paper and dies that match the stamp sets.

Here's a project we will make February 13 at my house in Maine.  It takes a few layers but it's fun and easy to make.  Here are the steps.

1. Cut out the inside of the Memories and More Cards and stamp Happy Birthday 6-7 times using Sahara Sand

2. Stamp the cake twice.  The first cake color in the cake tiers. The other cake color in the flowers and leaves.  I used Daffodil Delight blends and Soft Sea Foam blends for the flowers and Petal Pink light and dark for the cake.

3. Die cut out the cake and the flowers (I love that these layer!). For the cake, remove the stamped stand (we replace with a larger die cut stand.  Can you see this above.. the little stand is snipped off.

4. Die cut some flowers in sea foam, the stand and tiny leaves in Silver Foil

5. Position your cake stand first and add with dimensionals.

6. Now add some snail above your stand and adhere 2 pieces of about 4" of petal pink ribbon - can you see the snail above the stand?

7. Now add the cake with dimensionals, and add the flowers with dimensionals.

8.  Insert the Sea Foam leaves and the silver leaves.

9. Finally put dimensions on the card, and add this top layer.

10. The envelop matches... this is a special card, not sure I'd make 20 of these but so pretty. Perfect also for a wedding or anniversary when you stamp "celebrate" instead of "happy birthday"

I love to copy samples, my copies don't need to be exact but it helps my team and customers see a sample "come to life".  Below is the Stampin Up design (they used a gold stand, colored their white ribbon with sea foam marker and hand cut the "celebrate"... me I don't fussy cut!!)

We will make this Feb 13 - be sure to RSVP to me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

All these lovely products are in my online store.  Don't forget the best deal of all.. if you are at or close to $99... membership with Stampin Up is available for $99 - and for $99 plus tax (no shipping) you get:
$125 of any product from any catalog - you choose
A stamp set of your choice
A mini cutter and a sampler set of 6 x 6 DSP
A Paper Pumpkin
And... best of all ... your subsequent purchases are 20% off.
If you let your membership drop, no problem, there's no further obligation beyond this $99

Honey Bee NotePad: Be You

If you follow me you'll know that I've been making samplers.

Samplers use 3 x 3 squares and larger 6 1/4 x 3 rectangles.

For the first 10 days in February I'll post a project every day that uses one of these squares or rectangles in a different way (cards, gift card holders, Lindt Bar wrappers and more!)

Today is a covered writing pad to use a sampler rectangle.

We received this writing pad at OnStage and it’s 8 x 4 ½.
1.           I covered the pad with 2 pieces of designer paper. Black Honeycomb is 7 ¼ x 3 ¾. The white honeycomb paper is cut 3 ¾ x 1

The Rectangle is 6 ¼ x 3 (Daffodil Delight), black designer paper is 6 x 2 ¾ and white honeycomb is 5 ¾ x 2 ½

I attached the daffodil delight ruched ribbon and a bow.

The letters are die cut with the prose dies.  I layered a black letter with a Daffodil Delight letter.

For the “O” I used the Small Bloom punch (free in the Sale-A-Bration offer).

A little bee (layered over a bee cut from daffodil delight)

Finally, add a dot to the flower (the “o”)

All the products (honey bee stamp set and dies, ribbon, punch, ink, dots) are available in my online store (click on the shopping cart) .. except the bee paper which is FREE with a $50 order!  email me with questions MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Honey Bee Gift Bag to hold notecards

If you follow me you'll know that I've been making samplers.

Samplers use 3 x 3 squares and larger 6 1/4 x 3 rectangles.

For the first 10 days in February I'll post a project every day that uses one of these squares or rectangles in a different way (cards, gift card holders, Lindt Bar wrappers and more!)

Today is a small bag that can hold your notecards or Memory and More cards (or your Easel Post it Note cards)

1.           Let’s start with the bag.
2.           Cut 2 pieces of designer paper 6 x 6. Score both with ¾” on the top and bottom and 1” on each of the sides (consider the direction of your paper!)
I used petal pink champagne ribbon here but you could use the Daffodil Delight Ruched ribbon, or white ribbon with gold edges.

Here’s a link showing you how to make this bag.

3.           Decorate your bag with a 3 x 3 sampler square or leave it plain.

If you want a taller bag, don't score 3/4" along the top (you could attach a cuff from a 2nd strip of paper).

All the products (honey bee stamp set and dies, ribbon, punch, ink, dots) are available in my online store (click on the shopping cart) .. except the bee paper which is FREE with a $50 order!  email me with questions MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Today is a post it note easel.
1.           Let’s start with the 3 x 3 square:  Daffodil Card stock layer is 3 x 3, basic black 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 and designer paper is 2 ¾ x 2 ¾
2.           Die cut a large bee and honeycomb from the designer paper, attach to the front of the square
3.           Die cut an extra small bee.

4.           Attach your 3 x 3 onto a piece of a thick whisper white that is 3 x 4. Stamp a greeting and add a small bee with a dimensional.

5.           Attach this 3 x 4 onto the easel folder, this is cut 3 ½ x 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼ and 2 1/8. Burnish and fold with a bone folder for a crisp fold. Tip – put adhesive ONLY on the lower edge of the folder so the easel stands up (don’t put adhesive on the back of the 3 x 4 – trust me!)

6.           Add your post it note pad to the front of the easel.

7.           And this small holder can fit into a small Memories and More envelope.

All the products (honey bee stamp set and dies, ink, dots) are available in my online store (click on the shopping cart) .. except the bee paper which is FREE with a $50 order!  email me with questions MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

If you follow me you'll know that I've been making samplers.

Samplers use 3 x 3 squares and larger 6 1/4 x 3 rectangles.

The square for the first card was designed by my team mate Suzanne Thoman in Florida; the cover for the Gold Box was made by Cathy Jones.
