Coloring Club Projects for my Library

My local library in Florida asked me if I would bring a few projects for Coloring Club.

I thought you might like to see what I brought.  It's just 1 hour and everyone brings their coloring tools of choice (I brought blends, but next time I'll bring my watercolor pencils with my blender pen).

I created the little M&M packages with Mrs Claus (8 1/4 x 11, score on the short side at 1, 4 3/4, 5" and the cut 4 equal pieces on the long side at 2 3/4, 5 1/2 and 8 1/4).  You fold them up, add in the M&Ms staple and decorate.

The card you've seen before - the Beautiful You butterfly and the back was dry embossing with the Seaside folder in Coastal Cabana.

And the cute cookie cutter creatures with the matching punch.

What do you think?  I can say that they loved the projects!!

Country Lane Thank You Notes

This Country Lane set in the Holiday 2018 catalog has really had a great workout!  These 3 thank you cards show the versatility and fun with this set.

On the left is a card made by Susan Morrison (you can see more of her work on her blog at 207colorfulcreations.com).  The middle is one I made for Susan (I didn't know she was mailing me a thank you!) and on the right from Julie Clark, love the coloring and the wood designer paper.

Here's a few closeups... Susan used copper embossing, such a great technique that has a wow look and is pretty easy.  Love this linen ribbon and the Country Lane designer paper.

I also love how she brought the outside of the card to the inside with the jug.  And she stamped the flowers on the envelope so it really carried through the whole thank you.

Here's Julie's... pretty twine, simple add of the designer paper and the use of Blends makes this card pop. Blends are our alcohol markers and give rich depth.  Each color has a light and a dark so creating the 3d look with coloring is easy.

And here's mine (ok yes another silver edged card... I'm nearly out!) and I brought the silver into the card front with embossing. Embossing also makes it super easy to stay in the lines!!

I hope you like all these cards and they give  you some inspiration to make something and send something. So lovely to get and give real mail.

Happy stamping, MaryKate
PS Happy to send dimensions if you need them, just leave a comment.  Keep it simple, make it beautiful.

Leaf Punch Foil Wreath

Sometimes it's great to make a wow intricate card.  This wreath card uses a technique I call the "paper o-ring" technique.

You create a ring by punching a smaller circle (I used the 2" circle punch) and then lining the empty circle into a larger circle punch (I used the 2 1/4" punch) and punch... you have a ring. Can you sit it on the left side of the photo?

You then place the leaves (or anything really) on the ring, covering the entire ring.

It's fun with the leaf punch, sprig punch or your die cuts such as fall leaves.

You put the ring on your silicone mat, put a dob of liquid glue on the mat, and dip the ends of the leaves in glue. Match up the stems. Hide the o-ring.

Now make your card front 5 x 3 3/4, use about 14" of ribbon.  Tie a bow, wrap the left over end of your metallic edged ribbon around the front (secure with either scotch tape or snail), add your bow with a glue dot. Add the front to a silver foil piece 5 1/4 x 4. Add to the card front (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) and add the wreath.  Let it dry a good hour.

Don't forget a greeting!  I embossed mine in silver.

I hope you try it, this card has a wow factor but it's really easy!!

Before OnStage - Swim and Swap

Before we arrived in Orlando at OnStage Susan, Cathy and Janey came to visit me in Florida.  And instead of bringing swaps I let them know of the sets we would use to create things in Florida and swap.

I offered them sets that had a beach theme - so Tropical Chic, Colorful Seasons, LillyPad Lake, Waterfront Watercolor and High Tide.   They all got used!

Here's the collection of swaps - including a scrapbook page, treats, and cards.  Do you have a favorite??

And some close ups of each.

Susan's Tropical Chic.

Janey's Watercolor that looks just like the Florida sunsets

Cathy's scrapbook page (she used every set!!)

My card (sponged behind the circle cut out) with Lilly Pad. I cut the circle out then sponged on a page and adhered it to the back of the card front, then added the Egret.

and a treat with the Waterfront set as well from me as a pillow gift.

We finished with a swim and a key lime pie :)

OnStage in Orlando - 7000 demonstrators and so much fun!

What a great time we all had in Orlando. Here's the first of a few posts showing you highlights of the event.

7000 demonstrators attended and 2 of my team - Cathy Jones and Susan Morrison came with me.

We got a TON of free stuff!  5 new stamp sets, the tool bag (more photos coming on this), a great big bag (can you see the striped blue bag? it's huge and its zips into a nice small pouch), a market bag that is reversible and of course new catalogs.

More on the tool bag... we hear that it will be available for sale but no details yet. Stay tuned. It's about 10" x 7" and has a nice foldout section for our tools (snips, bonefolder, pick me up tool, the pointy thing and more), and 2 zip pouches as well.  Love it!

OnStage is about learning new techniques, seeing new products and the new catalog.. but it's also about celebrating success.  Here we are celebrating Susan's achievement to Silver, it's a big promotion. Not that many people are standing... and it's really a big deal.

On to our new catalog and here's Cathy with it. We can show you anything and everything but not inside the catalog.

Here are some of the display boards, not so many so sorry, but with so many demo's it was hard to get photos.  You'll love some of this wow new paper and pretty Memory and More cards.  Just a mini catalog (bit smaller vs holiday and a lots smaller than the Annual - but packed with Birthday, Valentines, Spring, Easter, Sympathy, Mother's Day and more).

We each get a number for prize patrol and when your number is called, you get the wining set.  And a lucky few got a golden ticket, as Cathy did!! So she was allowed to select any of the 8 sets that were prizes!!

We really had fun hanging out with our big team (total about 250 and about 35 came to the event).  And we had a scavenger hunt, and 1 of our tasks was to get a photo with Rich Judkins, he is the President and COO and we swarmed him. He was such a great sport.

Before the OnStage event I earned a ticket to Epcot and we all enjoyed a great day out. We loved the UK Tea Shoppe and this Buckingham Palace soldier!

And we got to meet Micky Mouse (ok it was goofy but so fun).

Fireworks were amazing as was the whole Food and Wine Festival.  A great day out.

Stay tuned, lots more photos and samples to share!

Take out Treat Box Color Challenge

Our team has either a sketch or a color challenge and this week we were given these colors! I was stumped.  Soft Suede, Mango Medley, Lemon Lime Twist and Vanilla.

So I decided to make my own designer paper with the Very Vanilla and Mango Melody.

And what to do with it???

I thought I'd try these cute take out boxes.  There's a big die to make the box (you cut 2 from the paper) and the come out of the Big Shot all cut and scored.

They go together really easily.  You fold up one half of the box and the sides glue together.

Can you see the little slit on the top of the box?  The 2 ends just slot in together.

Lots of cute dies to match - a heart, star, tags and so I thought I'd incorporate the Soft Suede and the Lemon Lime Twist into the tag. If you have a tag and want to make a background to it, just cut another (like I did for the Lemon Lime Twist) and cut in half, then adhere the front to these 2 pieces.

They hold 2-3 Lindt balls of chocolates.... so I thought as I was on a roll with the boxes, I'd make up a few pillow gifts for the girlfriends staying here with an "AMI" on the tag (for Anna Maria Island).  These are cute and I love the stamps and dies.  Lots of ideas are now swimming in my head for holiday treats and maybe some for next year for Valentine's (that heart stamp and die are fun!)

This is the whole set... lots of possibilities!  Available in my online store.  Happy Stamping, MaryKate

Colorful Seasons Door Hanger

I'm getting excited to see my crafting team and friends as we gather for OnStage (8000 demos in 1 place) to celebrate the 30th anniversary.

Some of the gang are coming to my place in Florida first, before we head to Orlando.

So I'm making a few treats.

This is a fun door hanger.  My friend Kelley Holmes designed this (hers in the Bermuda Bay) and I made a few small changes.

The set includes the dies (with the Adirondack chair).  Love this chair -- we have 2 here at our house and I feel like I'm on vacation every time I sit in them.

A few closeups.

Dimensions:  the inner square is the largest stitched shape square 2 5/8" square, the pool party paper is 3" square, then a whisper white at 3 1/2" square and the long pieces is 4 x 12 with some matching pool party ribbon.

Easy and I think pretty, I hope they like them!
