Color and Contour in bright fun colors

Our talented teammate Brenda Mann created this fun bright card with the Colors and Contours set

I wanted to show you an "up close" look... she attached the designer paper to the left, then die cut the main piece using the largest contour die.
Can you see the white embossing for the flowers? And then I think she used Blends to make the flowers.
What's super pretty is that all the colors match, so while there are many colors, it is so pretty as it coordinates so well.

Are you looking for more ideas using this set? I have a tutorial bundle using this set with 8 projects, free to team mates or customers (no minimum purchase!)

What a lovely thank you card,

I hope this inspires you to make a card -- and importantly put it in an envelope and send it out!

Happy crafting MaryKate

Make your own DSP with a video tutorial

Hi all - I love making my own patterned paper.  Today I'm showing you my paper using the Tidings and Trimmings set.

Here's a short video with tips on making your own paper

Once you have your paper created, you can make a bag and 2 cards, or 4 cards, or bag, card and 2 tags - lots of options, I'll post templates below this post.

Tidings and Trimming

On the left is my stamped paper, in the middle I've cut it to make 1 bag, 1 card and 2 tags (I show only 1 tag)

Tips on making your own paper

1. Start with coordinating colors and not too many.  In the video I show you 2 papers one with Christmas colors with the Tidings set and the other with What's Cookin' set.  The Cookin' paper has 5 colors but they all from the same family of "soft subtle" colors.  The video shows you these projects.

2. As you make your paper, start with the largest image, then 2nd largest etc... finishing with the tiniest stamp.  You'll see that I started with Cherry Cobbler, then went to the softer green Soft Succulent, then added in the darker Evergreen, and back to Succulent and then Cobbler.

3. As you stamp, turn your stamps to make a random pattern.

4. After you cut, if you see white space, you can fill that in easily with more stamping now the paper is cut.

5.  Match your colors to your ribbon. I used the matching Evergreen for the bag, and the matching Papaya for the What's Cookin projects.

Here are the templates - there are so many ways to use your own paper.  The piece on the lower far right is 1" wide and is waste (or a small tag???)

I hope you try this, it is very easy relaxing stamping and by simply matching colors, you'll get a professional looking piece of paper.

Other info: I used the Be Dazzle paper behind the greeting in the card which is free with a $50 order - yay Sale-A-Bration is back where you get a free item for each $50 you spend!  Click on the shopping card to see all the great free items!!
