Pop of Paradise and Mom's Hip Replacement

It's been a busy week here... Mom had her hip replaced and I'm taking care of her.  I sent her this card with the flamingo with its hip all bandaged up.

It's on the mantle right in front of a photo of Mom and my (late) Dad. I just couldn't crop them out of the photo :)

This flamingo is adorable from the set Pop of Paradise.  I made this a few weeks ago with the now retired Pop of Pink paper.  Simple card but love the bit of gold trim!

The little edge on the oval is from the Stitched Framelits, such as great set of dies in ovals, circles and squares.

More next week ... happy crafting MaryKate

July 4th and a new technique

Check this out!!

My friend and teammate Susan Denton Loughrey used a cut up credit card, dipped it in the ink pad to spread the ink and to make this flag wave! How cool is this?  I just had to share it.

I love my team.. so many ideas, love that we are share creativity, business ideas, everything!!  We are coast to coast and are a combination of hobby and business stampers.

If you're thinking of joining..don't!!! Ok I don't really mean "don't" I mean HOLD OFF til July 1st there's a great promotion where you get the kit PLUS $70 worth of an "essential kit".  So you choose and get $125 of anything, pay $99, and get all you chose AND the essentials kit!  Stay tuned I'll post on this over the weekend!!  As always, try it out, and if you don't use your account, no problem, no obligation, no contracts.  All the fun, 20% off, and did I say super-fun-team!

Textured Embossing Folders

This is short fun video on the new thicker embossing folders.  Do you remember the Hexagon folder (or last Christmas the stocking folder)?  Same thing!

I have the leaves and the plank ones and I thought we'd try these out at class July 8 or July 16, I think you have to see and feel it.

We have 1 spot left for July 8 with the Colorful Seasons class with 4 cards, one for each season.

July 16 is the "At Home" and we'll be playing with the new embossing paste and making a stepper card.

Happy crafting!
MaryKate

PS Don't forget the Friday all day "Christmas in July" creating 12 cards, 6 tags, gift card holders and fun gifts and stocking stuffers.  July 28th (or if you can't make it, feel free to order the bag of goodies!) Click on the events tab for details.

The middle paper with the coffee pots reminds me of "camp coffee" .. maybe it's a Maine thing!

Paper Pumpkin June 2017 One in a Melon

One in a Melon is the name of this kit and it's really cute!!!  6 cards and 4 bags.  Lots of cute greetings in the stamp set and I love that we got 2 ink spots in Melon Mambo and Emerald Envy.

And the bags can stand up or lie flat.  See the one in the front?  Anyway that one was mailed off today and I think it's a fun card/gift.  They included Melon Mambo twine but I liked the satin ribbon I had in my stash.

Click on the image above for the 2 min video you showing the cards and bags being made up.

Super cute, quick to make, my kind of summer crafting!

Nailed it! Retired..let me know if you'd like to borrow it!

Hello Stampers and Crafters!!

This set Nailed It! is retired but I'm happy to lend you the stamps and the matching dies if you are local to Hartland, Pittsfield, Bangor area!

This one could be Father's Day but I like that it could come from a wife to a husband on Father's Day

How cute are these tools? Super easy to color in with our watercolor pencils.  The card above was made by Becky Roberts and I received as part of a swap!

Love this paper - also retired (I warned you to stock up when things retire :)
I have some left if you would like it!

And this one is so simple but really fun

If you'd like more ideas, type in the set name Nailed It in the search bar (top right) and you'll see other projects I made and at our class.

Colorful Seasons - the Adirondack Chair

Nothing says summer to be like an Adirondack chair on my dock!

I loved this set so much I used it for my team swap.  A swap is where we all make 10 cards and then swap so we each have 10 different cards.  I like to make mine a little "Maine"...so in the past I used the lobster and the recently the lighthouse.

Here's the finished card.  I love this new designer paper.  It has a crinkle look on 1 side and ombre on the other and is in this Dapper Demin, Berry Burst, Old Olive and Crushed Curry.   Love the drink - such a tiny die. And I had to add some glitter dots (they come in the same colors: Berry, Denim, Curry and Olive).

I have a little tiny peek of the crushed curry showing.  The sun is from the most popular set of last year Swirly Bird (that surprised me it was the most popular - I loved it but it's not so common for a set with out sentiments to be #1).  I cut the sun from the ombre paper so each sun has a little shading.  The ocean swirl is from the same set and also from the ombre paper.

When I make a lot of swaps I do all but die cutting, cardstock cutting... and then go into assembly mode.  Although I like to make a full card first just in case I've made a mistake... I hate finding out after I cut 10 pieces that I'm out by 1/4"  Does that ever happen to you?!

And here they are ... all done... a great feeling!

We'll be playing with this set July 8 and making this card and 2-3 other projects. See the Events tab for details.

June 17 Catalog launch we'll be playing with the matching Memories and More cards and making a "tag" card with this Adirondack chair -- and other projects too - stay tuned!!

And you'll see all the other 9 cards from this swap!

At home... for all seasons

This is a very versatile set.  Love it.

I used it to make my Maine swaps with my Maine team.  I used the itty bows in the in-colors to decorate the doors.

Here's a close up... the door opens and you can stamp inside the door

I made this one for our summer neighbors as they move back in this weekend and I'm excited to see them!

And here's a video from Stampin up that shows you how you use these very easy dies... you simply cut the door with the big shot, run it through again for the door opening (tip.. since I did this... make sure you cut the opening so the door opens to the right :)

I used Shimmery white coloring cardstock, an aquapainter and new Fresh Fig for the door and Smokey Slate ink for the welcome mat.

This will be fun all year!

Happy crafting, don't forget to check out all the classes in the Events/Workshop tab! MaryKate

Team Color Challenge - check out all the creativity!

I'm part of such a great team!  Our weekly challenge always gives me so many great ideas and a few sleepless nights trying to think up my entry!!  Here's the challenge... make anything.. not just a card... from these colors (and only these colors!)

Here's mine: I'm in LOVE with the Colorful Season set!  At the moment I'm using all the beach chairs, sunshine, flower stamps but when fall comes... I'll be pulling out the leaves and in winter the snow. Love a versatile year round set!

And from April Lindow (our winner!)

Here's one from Sally Allen, how fun!

From Tamara Twitchell... great use of this lighthouse set!

Here's an entry from Susan Loughrey - inside this notebook she had 4 matching cards and stamps and she shared the pattern so we'll make this at class soon.

Lots of great ideas!

Don't forget, catalog launch is June 17 - that's when the free stuff is shared!!

New classes are now posted in the events tab!

Customer Thank you Boxes!

All customers who shop with me and use the host code get a surprise box!  It's usually full of paper with the matching ribbons, sometimes matching embellishments...

Last month (I was a bit behind!oops!) my customers loved the box of Cool Treats paper with the Watermelon ribbon.

20 sheets of 6 x 6 paper, 2 yards of ribbon!

I used the new Label me Pretty with the matching punch and stamp "you're the best"!  They are the best!!

If you'd like a surprise box, feel free to shop with me and use the host code (you can find it top right hand side of the website!)
