Easel Calendar Cards with Crafting Forever

Each year I make calendar cards - for a class and to give away!

This year I used the Crafting Forever set. I love the little scissors and the greetings (we're cut out to be friends) and (do something creative every day)

This is a card 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half.  I did tone-on-tone stamping with the scissors using the matching Calypso Coral ink.  I used the post it notes so I could go off the edge. The matching designer paper is 3 x 4 1/2. I stamped the greeting and punched it out with the new Label me Fancy punch (this is turning out to be a go-to punch).

I punched out the coordinating Pacific Point (same punch) cut the shape in half, adhere to the back of the stamped greeting.  I added a Noble Peacock rhinestone.

Then I added the calendar to the front.

What makes this card a bit different is the easel part at the bottom.  On the back cut up about 1/4" 2 slits that are about 1 3/4 long.  Cut 2 small slits on the front about 3/4" in from the edge and about 1/4 up into the card.  This is your easel base. I hope the photo makes it easy to see how this works.

It mails flat, the receiver just inserts the back "legs" into the front.

This easel concept would be great for a special birthday card, one the receiver just doesn't not want to throw away.  Easy but so useful!

On the back I stamped another pair of scissors and the greeting.  I figured the receiver would see the back vs the inside given the easel stand.

What do you think? Will you try it? let me know if you have questions (or if you needs supplies to make this card).

Happy stamping Happy New Year to you, MaryKate

A Peaceful Poppies Sampler

Our team is creating "samplers".   A color scheme is set and we each create 3 x 3 squares (for a 12 x 12 frame)

This sampler swap focuses on the new Poppies stamps and dies and stunning designer paper.  The lead set the colors as Blackberry Bliss, Poppy Parade, Mossy Meadow.

So I created my square and then 7 identical ones and mailed them out.

I can't wait to see what my team mates create!!

I'll be sure to show you the final 12 x 12 sampler when it's all together!

Our team is a ton of fun, we share ideas, swaps, get together in person and online, so fun to hang out with crafty friends!  Jan 3 is a great time to join us as a member of our team.  You pay $99 and get your choice of $125 plus a stamp set of your choice, plus a mini-trimmer and designer paper sampler.  What a great membership offer!  Once you are a member you get 20% of all your Stampin Up purchases, if you don't purchase anything further, that's fine, no obligations, if you spend $300 every 3 months, your account and your 20% discount is there for you!!

Do Something Creative Every Day

We had a free shipping sale last week so I decided to order a few New Years Gifts for my team (I"ll post the packaging after they all arrive and are opened).

Here are the cards I made to go with the gifts.

I wanted a card that was easy and fast to reproduce as I have to make a lot of them! I love my team!  Here's the messy desk picture as I create a big pile of the pieces to create the cards!

I used Pacific Point and Calypso Coral for my bases (using the designer paper as a the guide to color choice).  And the yellow is "crushed curry".

I stamped with the scissors tone on tone, then added designer paper cut 4 1/4 x 2, the added the greeting with the 1 3/4 circle punch on top of a new punch "label me lovely" being released Jan 3rd 2020.  And a little white twine bow to finish.

Inside it says ... we are cut out to be friends!

I love this creative set and the fun crafting designer paper. This paper is available in the annual catalog so you have til June 2nd to get this fun paper.

I'll be off my blog for several days over the holidays... but back late December with news on all things new in the new catalog!

Lindt Chocolate Wrappers for Stocking Stuffers

These Lindt bars are a favorite in my family so they are a perfect stocking stuffer.

I wrapped them in 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 clover cardstock (score at 3 3/4, 4, 7 3/4, 8).

Burnish the folds with a bone folder. Add strip of tear n tape to the right edge (1/2" wide) and make the wrapper (yes it is open at both ends).

Take about 25-30" of ribbon, insert it into the wrapper so there's an end coming out the front and coming out the back.

Now tie the ribbon. Tip - to make sure your bow end up horizontal (to the chocolate bar) tie the knot so the ribbon ends are vertical (yes opposite). Now tie the bow - and it's perfect.

Add a piece of designer paper to the front 3 x 6 and stamp a greeting on a 3 x 3/4" scrap of whisper white.

Make a tag with the left over designer paper (tag topper punch and ribbon!)

Make lots!

Happy stocking stuffing!

A holiday thank you card "Mingle all the Way"

We have a neighborhood walk around party for the holidays and these are my thank you's to the hosts.

We have 5 hosts (4 for appetizers and 1 for desserts) and you are assigned to go to 2 of the 4 appetizer houses and everyone goes to the dessert house.  Each of us are assigned an app or a dessert and directed to drop it to a house.

We then walk from house to house and visit.  Fun fun evening!

So I made some quick thank you notes.  The Frost paper is cut 3 x 5 1/2 and the Real red is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. Before I layer these together I attached a piece of real red ribbon to the back of the Frost paper. I then stamped the greeting, punched it out with a 2" circle punch, and attached it to a punched starbust in silver foil. A rhinestone gives it glitter! I attached this to the ribbon.  To make the back look pretty I attached another 2" circle to the back of this "mingle ornament".

The ornament swings... and I thought the sentiment was perfect!

I hope you are enjoying your holiday traditions.  Happy holidays! MaryKate

Night Before Christmas Card and Tag

A super simple card and tag for you.

I used the designer paper "Night Before Christmas" with the matching die of Santa with sleigh and reindeer.

I added a rhinestone to the lead reindeer!

It's hard to see in the photo but I added a wink of stella for sparkles to all the lower trees and on the light bulbs at the top.

The designer paper was cut 4" x 5 1/4" and the tag was 2" x 6"

And I used the last piece 3/4 x 4 to put on the front of the envelope using the other side of the paper!

This was a fun bundle to use over the holidays with it's matching Memories and More cards. It's still available in my online store til Jan 2nd.   I hope it goes on sale for the new year, let's watch for it in clearance, so many fun designs on the paper.

Happy crafting, happy Christmas

Snowman Season Quick Gift Card

Looking for a quick cute gift card?

This gift card holder or treat package can stand up (due to the mountain fold in the middle).

1.    Cut the paper 9” x 3”  - check the direction of your paper!

2.    Score at 1, 4 ½, 5 and 5 ½ - before you score, make sure the paper pattern (eg the trees) are pointing to the right and then start scoring.  (No need for you to waste paper, I did that for you!!) Do you see the trees pointing to the right and my scoring tool pointing to the 1”?
3.    Round the corners of the top of the holder that has the 1” score line

4.    Fold and burnish with a bone folder, making a mountain fold (a W) along the 5” score line (see photo)

5.    Now decorate it. If you want to make it as I did, I inserted the 2 ½ x 3” white piece inside for your greeting.  You can put a gift card in, or a bag of candy.

6.    For the outside, I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Snowman set on a piece ¾ x 3” in real red

7.    Add the clip and attach the bow with a glue dot
8.    Insert your gift card and either secure it with a glue dot or make sure it’s clipped in.
9.    Tip – if you need a bunch of these cut the paper 9 x 12 to make 4 at once!

You are done! If you need any of these supplies, my online store is always open - and remember you need to order by December 11 to ensure delivery by Christmas!

Happy crafting, enjoy the season - MaryKate

Butterfly Beauty - a collection of birthday, thank you, congratulations

I love these Butterfly Beauty Dies.  They were released last year and I've used them a lot.

Right now I needed some thank you, congratulations and birthday cards.

My card is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 folded, the granite grey is 4 x 5 1/4 and the top whisper white layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

I used the Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape (in part I like the colors and also they match these fun glitter dots).  It's all about color coordination.

So I cut the butterflies, attached them together with mini glue dots.   I had just a yard left of the matching grape ribbon (sadly gone now) and attached 12" by first putting some snail adhesive on top of the butterflies and then added the greeting with some dimensionals.

Super easy card and I think it works great for all these occasions!

The dies are $39 in my online store and I've certainly got a lot of butterflies for my money over the past 12 months!

If you need any crafting supplies, just let me know, or drop into my online store.  Use a host code and you'll get a lovely gift in the mail from me.  November 2019 it was the real red / garden green glitter dots.
