it Starts with Art - a little note

A little note

and a little post!

A whisper white notecard with one of the pens from the It Starts with Art Set.   I love that I can color in 3 pens and it's one die to cut all 3.

Blends make coloring so easy and fun.

Dimensions of the layers:  Whisper White 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 and the Coastal Cabana 2 1/2 x 4

I'll post more of our It Starts with Art later next week. It was a fun class of making gifts for ourselves!

Almost forgot - the sentiment came from the ever-useful Butterfly Gala!

Abstract Impressions - Happy Citizenship News

My friend just got her US Citizenship - right in time to celebrate the 4th!

So here's my quick card in red white and blue.

The base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, the Poppy Parade paper is from the Silhouette Series. I die cut the butterfly from the piece cut 4 x 5 1/4, then layerd on the Whisper White at 3 3/4 x 5 with the greeting.

The blue is the new Peacock foil - love it!

That's all for today - keep it simple, make it beautiful.

Come back on July 1st we have a great blog hop for you!

A little note for the It Starts With Art Class

I'm adding a few more projects to our Sunday afternoon class for "It Starts with Art"

We'll be making some small notecards with the cute pen stamp that has a matching die. The stamp has 3 pens that you color and then the die cuts out 3 pens.

I used a traditional notecard

and I used the new scalloped notecards with copper embossing.

Can you see the shine of the embossing?

The sentiment comes from the Butterfly Gala set.  But this would work well with the sentiments in the It Starts with Art, as well.

Do you have a favorite??

Don't forget to RSVP for June 30 2-4pm at my lake house! MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Thur June 20 Flower Essence Class at The Flower Studio in Pittsfield

I'm so excited for our class this Thursday June 20 5pm

We are at The Flower Studio in Pittsfield ME (and I will have a class to go if you are not local, details tomorrow!).

We are making a cute quick bag (seriously this is a 15 min fun bag) and 2 cards to match, along with a gift card/chocolate holder.

Pretty fun projects, the flowers are stamped and then I have the matching punch so no hand cutting.

We'll use lots of different paper and color choices for the flowers.

And don't you just love these cute flower centers?  They make the card pop.

Lots of color choices - you are seeing the new Pretty Peacock, Crushed Current and Old Olive here but I'll also have Petal Pink and other matching colors.

RSVP essential so I have lots of supplies ready for you to create. Perfect for new stampers and experienced crafters. To RSVP please email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com or text 207 431 0317.

This class is $10 (or free with a $35 order). June 20 5pm.

Looking Up Father's Day Card

Prepare to be horrified! I made my husb
and a father's day card from a kit - and both of us loved it!!

Here's the card.

I appreciate it's a different father's day card but I am thankful for all he does.

Inside I stamped the greeting from Well Said/Well Written.

This is a great kit.  You get everything you need to make 15 cards except adhesive.  You get the stamps, ink, block, cards, envelopes, everything!!

One of the things I like about this kit is the die cuts. All I did was put the die cut of the plane on top of the plane image on the front of the card and it was a 3D card.  The pretty copper stickers really look nice.

Why this card? He loves antique planes so it really was perfect.  (Hope it makes you rethink kits!)

This kit is new to our annual catalog (released this month) and if you would like one just email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I'll put one in the mail! Lots of great ideas, in fact I think it's more of an Idea Book than a catalog.

I have several projects to be posted using the Sailing Away set this week. And Anyone who buys the bundle will get a card kit sent in the mail as a thank you! So the moment your bundle arrives you can begin creating.  My online store is always open, please use the host code and free goodies will be mailed out the first week of the following month!

I hope you all had a great father's day!

Mosaic Box - a class prize

I'm excited to see my Maine crafters today! Classes are back on in Maine.

At (almost) every class I host, I have a prize, it's a random lucky draw and it is usually our beautiful paper and ribbon or it can be a stamp set, or a free class or a month of Paper Pumpkin.  It's fun to win something!

Here's today's prize.  A box of 6x6 Mosaic paper.

The box finishes at 6 1/4 square, the base is 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 scored on 4 sides at 1" and the lid is 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 scored at 3/4 on all 4 sides.

I put a piece of the paper on top - but didn't glue it down (so it can be used).  I took a dimensional and made it less sticky by touching the 2 sides and then attached the paper to the box.

The bundle and the paper are really pretty.

The paper is coated so it's extra thick (nice for 3D items) and it has a shiny side and a matte side.

Click on workshops and you can see my June class list and the start of July classes as well.  Hope to see you soon -- or I'll have an online class available soon.

Sailing Home - IDEAS Blog Hop

Welcome to our IDEAS blog hop for May. We are 12 international Demonstrators with a tutorial bundle for you.  This month we each chose our favorite set from the new catalog which goes live tomorrow June 4 2019.

I love this sailing home bundle.  I live in Maine and Florida and love coastal living and everything nautical.

I've made 3 cards this month - (right to left) for the new crafter, occasional crafter and avid and a 3D item - my "sail" box.   So a #simplestamping card, a card that uses punches and some basic embellishments and then a card that uses the dies with this fabulous set.

My 3D project is a "sail box" with 4 sails around the box.  I love everything about this set!

And I have a beach bag too!  It uses my LLBean bag pattern and the new Woven Threads paper.  You can get the pattern from the tab "ideas, free things" you'll see it as "LLBean Bag".

I hope you like these projects and the projects from my fellow IDEAS demonstrators.  It's really a great bundle of inspiration for crafters or demonstrators looking for new ideas or workshop ideas.  Keep hopping so you can see all the creativity.   The bundle is about 75 pages of detailed full color instructions.

Would you like a copy of the instructions for these projects to use for your personal use, or even to use in your classes? Contact me at MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com Free to customers who purchase $35, or Free to my team members, or $15 by PayPal.
