Easter Treats Lindt Bunny Lamb or Duck

These treat holders fit the Lindt lamb, duck or bunny. I found mine at Reny's but there are also on Amazon.

Use Thick Whisper White cut 6 x  2”  scored at score at 1/2”, 1-3/4”, 2-3/8” and 3-5/8”.  Punch with the tag topper punch.

Fold the 6 x 2 strip. At the end of the strip punch a 1 3/8” circle to hold the chocolate treat (folding over the last 1/2" side that will be hidden.)  Secure with tear n tape.

Cut a 2 x 5/8” strip of wild wasabi for grass, trim with scissors, attach to front. Stamp Happy Easter from Teeny Tiny Wishes, cut out with the Classic Label Punch.  Tie the 8” strip of free Sale-A-Bration Calypso Coral ribbon with the white twine.

We will make this, and other projects (see posts yesterday and Monday) on March 12 at Warsaw!

Happy Easter, MaryKate

Quick Sweet Soiree Easter Basket

The base of the basket is 3 ¼ x 3 ¼ scored at ½ on all 4 sides.  Make into an open box.

Place tear n tape around the rim of the box and wrap a piece of the olive green paper (from Sweet Soiree designer paper set) cut 2 x 11 ½ around the base.  With the piece ½ x 11 create a handle as long or as short as you would like, securing it inside the basket.
The paper has yellow blue and green dots on the inside so I added Easter shred in the same colors.

I stamped the Bunny from A Good Day set (new in the Occasions catalog) and punched him out with the matching 1 1/8 scallop circle punch, then punched out a daffodil delight scallop circle in the 1 3/8 punch.  Punched a 1/8 hole and tied it to the basket with whisper white twine.

Join us March 12 where we make this project, a card and an Easter Bunny treat.  Yes chocolates are included in your class fee!!  3 places left for March 12.

Happy Easter with the Amazing Gold Burst

This is a simple card to celebrate Easter.

The wooden cross is ½” 3 ¼ and ½ x 2 ¾ from the Wood paper – but there are a lot of ways to do this. You could use our wood grain stamp set, you could use the plank 3D folder and sponge.

The ribbon is Very Vanilla colored with Elegant Eggplant.

The gold burst is from the Amazing You stamp set (free in Sale-A-Bration).

Foam strips make the cross pop up.  And in the sunshine the gold burst really sparkles.

The Happy Easter is from Teeny Tiny wishes and punched out with the Classic Label, stamped in Elegant Eggplant to match the back layer (4 x 5 1/4) and the ribbon.

What do you think?  I’m wondering if the whisper white (3 ¾ x 5) needs some leaves embossing?  I do like the focus and simplicity of this card.

We’ll make this at class March 12 along with an Easter basket and an Easter bunny. And yes I'll include a creme egg and a chocolate bunny for the class. I'll post photos of these tomorrow!

Quick easy gift Sweet Soiree cards in a bag

We had a team challenge: make a fast pretty gift and give it away.

I love this kind of challenge, sometimes I can get caught making really complicated cards and this makes me realize the MOST important thing is to get a card into someone's hands!

I got the idea for these 2 simple cards from a thank you card I received in the mail from my niece.  It's so lovely to get a handwritten card.  So her card is at the back (simple white card with the flower and the trim at the bottom.) And my 2 cards at the front.

So I created these 2 cards with a strip of Sweet Soiree paper 5 x 1/2 and added a die cut flower.  I decorated the envelopes with matching paper.
I used the Sweet Soiree kit - see yesterday's post

where I posted a photo of the goodies in this mini kit.

And then put them in a bag, added the topper and a matching Berry Burst Kit. I'll add a greeting to the top, maybe with the Pretty Label punch.

I can't wait to give them away!

Happy stamping.. don't forget to mail a card that you make...MaryKate

Petal Burst Sweet Soiree Handbag

I can't wait to craft with you all again. This Monday Feb 26 we are making this cute handbag, a matching 3 x 3 card, and an "elegant" Sweet Soiree card.

So sorry to be so absent (too much work, too much work travel and now a cold)! Thanks for checking back and I'll be much more present, I promise :)

This bag is really easy to make.  The template can be printed right on to the card stock and you cut out the template, score where you need to and it folds up easily.  If you want the template, email me at MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Once you have copied the template, cut off 2 strips 8 1/2 x 1/2" for the handles, then you'll make 2 additional sides for the bag and run these through the BigShot with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

Ok so.. attach the handles, then cover the handles with the petal burst sides using 6 dimensionals.  Add the silver trim 1/2 x 1 3/4 and add the tassel from the embellishment set on page 13 in the Occasions catalog.

The card is 6 x 3 with the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 petal burst and topped with the cute die cut from the same kit (see right).

Tomorrow I'll post on using the die cuts from this set.

I have 1 place left for Monday's class where we will make the bag, the 3x3 and a regular card (and maybe a 4th project!)  RSVP asap for the spot.

Happy crafting, MaryKate

Petal Palette Paper and sets

Lots of discussion at class on the Petal Passion and Palette paper! This is a great short video on the set and the paper. For those interested to jump to the paper go to about 1:30min of the video.

Lots of fun ideas.

I think we will make a handbag and matching cards at class with this paper.  We'll use the blends to color the big flowers for the cards.

Here's a link to a prior project with this set

We must celebrate - with the critters

A fun set when you need a card that's "from all of us" (office, big family, group of friends).

Here's a cute card with a great design that you can also use for other sets that have a big image (like the 4 critters).

Just pick a stamp as your background stamp and then create the front of the card, this one is 3 x 5.  Then put on a banner as this one does 1/2 x 2 1/2 with the "all of us" for the greeting.

This is a fun stamp set. I overlooked it at first but I love that it's great to color with my blends and I think the greetings are super.
What do you think? Did it go past you when you first checked out the new catalog??

Mom's Gal-entine Day Party Box

My Mom has a Gal-entine’s party for her girlfriends every year on Valentine's Day.

Most of them are widows and my  Mom says “no need to stay home” and “...been waiting to open that great bottle of wine?? Well this is the night”!

So I create invitations, party favors, decorations and treat boxes for her party.  You can find all these items on the blog in the past 3-4 weeks with all dimensions and how-to's.

Here’s the box of goodies headed to Florida.  I put in the extra hearts for her table decor.

My sister and her dog Molly will be there this year so I’m guessing a big party is on the way!

She doesn’t always love my crafts but the little boxes are full of Godiva chocolates, so at least some of these will meet with approval!  LOL

Mom also like extra favors and she and I like to give our Valentine’s to all the people we see every day  that we love and appreciate.  I give Valentines to the town office, the post office, my doctor’s office, the bankers in town – I love and appreciate them all.

What are your Valentine traditions?

Barn Door - a swap card

This card came to me as a swap (a swap is where demonstrators make 12 identical cards, send the to the swap coordinator and then get 12 different cards back). A great part of being on our team.

This one is by Julie Robinson of Ohio.  She used the new Barn Door set.

The door slides open so you see both greetings.

The little dog is from the Bike Ride set.

Here’s her card and a few close ups to show you the great details.

And a video so you can see how the mechanism works. It’s a slider card and pretty easy to do.

Let me know if you want to try this out in a class.
Happy crafting MaryKate

An eclectic customer thank you box

Each month, every customer that places an order and uses the host code (see it top right?) gets a present.  I appreciate every order, thank you.

I announced that it would be white organza ribbon early in January. It's my all-time favorite ribbon.  Not only is it pretty just by itself, you can use any marker, or Blends, or even an ink pad and color this ribbon to match your inks and cardstock.

Here I colored the end of the ribbon (this is mine not a customer's!) with the Tranquil Tide marker.  Easy, pretty and it coordinates for a great look.

And in the thank you box is 20 sheets of pretty designer paper in the 2017-2019 in-colors.  I topped the box with the Naturally Eclectic designer paper.  I think it looks great in Dapper Denim and matches the paper.

Now... I just found out that this ribbon is SO popular that they are temporarily taking it off the market, to replenish, and it will be available sometime next month.

I have 1 left (I ordered a bunch in early January)...so the first person to place an order over $50 will get this (or the February gift whatever they prefer!).

The thank you card inside was made with the petal passion set.  Not exactly a match but I love this little bird and the matching embellishment.  Petal Passion paper is 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 and the 2 pieces are 4 x 5/8 (smokey slate and the designer paper).  See the pretty ribbon...it's the fun organza that's inside the box.  Calypso Coral blends made the flowers pop and the bird matches.

Baby Bear a True Gentleman

My niece is having a baby boy in late March maybe early April – so exciting!!

I’ve created a few thank you card designs for her.  I love this cute bear.  So far this one is my favorite.  I think the matching Tranquil Tide bow is cute.

I love the new paper True Gentlemen and might make a set in different patterns.

I also like the matching corduroy ribbon and tried to do a "manly bow" vs a girly tie bow, what do you think?

Did you know the Baby Bear stamp was the 6th MOST popular stamp set in the entire Annual Catalog last year?  I wonder if the similar Bunny stamp will be popular?  It’s an easy 3 step stamp and you get the life like image.  I used crumb cake and soft suede.

This one with the dapper denim bow used Chocolate chip, crumb cake and soft suede and was made by my friend Carla Blake.

One thing we found out as a team as either you LOVED this bear, or you really didn’t like him at all…. No in-betweens!

Here are some color mashups for the bear... I think that a
lot of colors would work.

I’ll let you know if I create other designs or if she picks one of these.
