Day 11 Snowflake card and table decor

There are a lot of different snowflake dies in the catalog this year.   I think I'll cut a whole bunch of these and put on my Christmas tree, I'm thinking silver glimmer paper!

Here's a snowflake card:

This card uses the new embossing folder Winter Wonder, that is part of the Year of Cheer set.  For this card, I used the new champagne foil (somewhere between silver and copper).  I cut it 3 ¼ x 4 /2 and ran it through the big shot (at a bit of an angle).

I cut the designer paper 4 x 5 ¼, and punched out some snowflakes, many of your punches will work – the 1”, 1 3/8, or even the starburst punch.

I added a strip of the metallic washi tape on the bottom then layered up the card.  I cut the silver edge ribbon about 5” and with scotch tape I secured it to the back, and then cut a 4” piece and tied a knot (so a “faux bow”), which I secured with a glue dot.  I didn’t put a greeting on the outside of the card.  I think I’ll add a Christmas greeting inside.

I made a few table decorations, including a napkin wrap and a place card that held up with a twix fun size bar.  The place card finishes at 5 x 1 ½ and I like the layered look.  My holes are 1” but ¾” works great too.

I like to cut 3 or 4 identical snowflakes (I’m using the Colorful Seasons snowflakes) in silver or gold glimmer (foil also works well).  I fold them in half and then attach them together, insert metallic thread or the new thin real red ribbon into the center.
Or I cut 2 identical and put them back to back for a flat snowflake.

These are also great table décor, either by themselves or on the front of a candy bar holder. Great for any party – so easy to adapt to the season.
Tomorrow is the last of the 12 Christmas projects!!

Join me tomorrow Oct 12 at Warsaw 6pm -730pm to make this card (today’s projects) and the day 8 and day 9 projects!  RSVP essential.

Happy stamping, MaryKate
