Day 1 of the 13 Spooky Days of Halloween: The Spooky Cat Lantern

This is the first of 13 Halloween projects coming to you September 1 – 13 2017.    For the series, I mainly used the Spooky Cat set with the matching punch in Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  I will be using the Labels to Love and the matching punch.   Accessories that I’ll be using include the black rhinestones crochet lace, washi tape, copper foil and copper ribbon, some twine, and quite a lot of chocolate!

I love this new Spooky Cat punch and the matching designer series paper (DSP).

Cut 3 pieces of DSP for the inside of the lantern. Select carefully as you’ll see both sides of the paper.

You take the bottom off (it rotates off), then you slide in the paper, below the prongs. No glue dots needed. The prongs keep the paper in place.  And since it’s not glued… so easy to replace with holiday paper in 2 months!

So you have 3 sides of the glass covered.

Now punch out the cat.  The paper has cats or you can stamp a cat and punch it out.

I used a paper piercing tool (the pointy thing!) and poked a hole in the cats eyes – so as the light shines through, the cat looks demented.  Just me.

Attach the cat to the front of the 3rd side of the lantern with dimensionals
Insert the tea light and you are done!  I like the tea lights that flicker!

We are making this project at our catalog launch on Sept 9 – places are limited so RSVP to join me for this project and 2 more projects as well (and prizes at launch!).

I have quite a few extra lanterns if you need any… yup I accidentally ordered twice for class so let me know if you’d like one and it’s yours for $3 (or you can buy them on PaperLanternStore.com for $3 plus shipping)

I have 13 projects coming your way Sept 1-13 207 and if you’d like a pdf of all 13 projects, just place an order in my online store and use the host code (any amount is fine), or be a member of my team and all my tutorials are yours.  We have a fabulous fun team from all over the US with virtual support, weekly win-a-stamp-set competitions, with lots of ideas.  Great for hobby stampers who enjoy the 20% discount, lots of business support for a business demo. I’d be happy to email you the PDF of all projects!

Happy Halloween!!
