Day 1 of Back to School: A Desk Organizer

This is day 1 of 7 days of back to school projects that I'll be posting every day for the last week of August.   I thought the first project might be to get organized!

This is a fast easy project to create a place for tools, pens, some small scrap paper, post it notes to declutter your desk!  Size is hard to see so I put the
small water bottle next to it.  It stands 6” high and is 6 ½ wide.

Lemon Lime Twist is 6 ½ x 11, score it at 6, 6 3/4, 7 1/2 , and 10 ½
Burnish the folds and notice the mountain fold (like an M) for the bottom.

After folding, add a strip of tear n tape on the last 1/2” and secure to the back of the “easel”.  I found it stood up easily.  Add a piece of designer paper 6 x 5 ½ to the front. I used a piece from the Naturally Eclectic collection.

Make 2 boxes to go on the front.  The first is 8 x 2 (for the post it note holder), score at 3 ¼, 3 3/4, 7, 7 ½.  And score ½ on the bottom  Trim the tabs with small notches (mitres) to get rid of the bulk.  Add a piece of designer paper to the front, mine is 1 ¾ x 3.

The second box (for the pens/tools) is 6 ½ x 3, score at 2 ½, 3, 5 ½, 6, and score ½ from the bottom. Make into a box and add a designer paper 2 ½ x 2 ½
Adhere boxes to the front of the organizer – let it dry before using.

Add in a Post it note pad, pens, tools, gold binder clips – enjoy!!

I hope you make one!   If you would like the complete set of 7 back to school projects in a PDF, just place an order in either August or September with the host code (see this site, top right hand corner) and I’ll email you the full set of projects.

Happy crafting and I hope your back to school week is going well-  MaryKate
