Good Morning Magnolia

This is a stunning set. A beautiful big image of the magnolia and lots of coordinating dies.

I made this box of thank you cards for my niece for her shower.  It’s a simple design.  First cut a whisper white piece 4 x 5 ¼, die cut the lower edge of this card.  Then stamp the “thank you”.  I chose a different set for my thank you (as I prefer thank you to thanks). My thank you is from the new Kindness and Compassion set.

Cut a piece of the designer paper 4 x 1 ¼. Add this to the front of your card base.   Then add your base with the “thank you”.

Stamp the big magnolia and with your blends (alcohol markers) add a bit of a darker pink (I used the petal pink combination) then pull the dark pink out with the lighter petal pink.  Color in the leaves. I used Old Olive (Mossy Meadow would work) but I prefer the lighter green.

Die cut the flower, add a little bow with the matching twine.  Add the flower to the front of the card.

I then added a little artisan pearl next to my thank you.

This card would be great as a birthday or a hello or a sympathy card.

I made a lot of these cards for her and made a deep box to put them in.  The box is a bit wider than usual as I wanted to insert a pretty pen to the side. The finished box is 6 x 5 and the base is 2” deep and the lid 1” deep. So here are the measurements:

Base is 10 x 9 (cut a 1/16” smidge off 2 connecting sides) and score at 2” on all sides.  Trim the tabs and make into a box.

Lid is 8 x 7 and scored at 1” on all sides. Trim the tabs and make into a box. Make a final card (or a card front) and add to the front of the box.

Pretty and very easy to make.  The coloring took a little extra time but I liked the look. A faster way to do this coloring is to use a dauber and “daub” on the color at the base of the flower.

Finally I put it all in a bag and make a matching Memories & More card for her. I used 2 of the 3 x 4 cards and created a gift note.

This post is really long (sorry!) so I'll show you the other thank you cards using these Memories & More cards on Thursday!

Happy stamping!
