Incredible Like You boxes of cards with laser cut decoration

I’m attending a craft fair March 16, in fact it’s a boutique of local artisans and items include my card sets, jewelry, silk painting (scarves and wall art), watercolor paintings, fun beachy items (we are on an island here in Florida).

I thought you might like to see some of my card boxes.  Here is a set of cards using the Incredible Like You project kit. This kit is gorgeous and the card have a wow factor with embellishments and a hint of glimmer.

I took the box concept from the cards.  I created a wash with my acquapainter (coastal cabana) then covered it with the laser cut paper (yay it’s a free item with Sale-A-Bration) and then stamped and cut the stitched square, and added glimmer leaves from the left overs in the kit.  Last I put on a frame using the new stitched rectangles (the largest and 3rd largest).

The lid is cut at 6 x  7 1/2 and scored at 5/8 on all 4 sides.

The base is cut at 7 x 8 1/2 (take off a smidge on 2 connecting sides so it’s a teeny bit smaller than the lid for a tight fit).  Score the base at 1 1/8 on all 4 sides

What do you think?   What should I price it at? I’d love some ideas… a box of 4 cards, envelopes in pretty packaging, with 100% of the price going to our community center?  $15? If you have a minute I’d love your thoughts in the comment section or to my email MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Then I created these bags, I call them the “Audrey” don’t they look like a bag Audrey Hepburn would carry in Breakfast at Tiffany’s?? LOL

I’ve seen these made by a few demonstrators, Dawn Griffith, Becky Roberts and I think I make mine mostly the same.

Essentially you build a box (with an open top), and add the handbag side pieces and the top (the glimmer) on the sides.  I secure mine with magnets that I get at Amazon. And cover the magnets with a piece of black cardstock (as the magnets are strong and it looks prettier).

The gems are just for show, they don’t do anything.  If you’d like a tutorial just let me know by comment or email. They are a bit time consuming but they are fun and I think they’ll be popular – I’ll report back after the craft fair!

Tomorrow I’ll show you a few more boxes I made with the Precious Parcel Kit

  1. I love the purse idea. Yes, yes, I want to make these too, if you'll share the instructions. Thanks, MaryKate/
