Easy Peasy Gift Bag - a 1 sheet wonder

Hi crafters

Today my friend and team mate Laurie is hosting her first workshop and she is choosing to create beautiful cards that go in the gift bag.  So as you read this please send her good vibes for a great first workshop!!

The bag is super easy.

Cut your 12x12 sheet at the 8 ¼ mark with the pattern is “facing north”, see the up arrow?   You now have a piece 12” wide and 8 ¼ tall.   (So cut at the redline).  Save the bottom piece this is perfect to use for card fronts and / or a tag.   The top diagram is the 12 x 12 sheet, the bottom is the sheet 12 x 8 ¼.

Score at 4 ¼, 5 ¾, 10, 11 ½ on the long side. The score lines are dashes.

On the short side score at 1 and 7 (7 is at the bottom of the bag).  Fold on the score lines (making a cuff for the top).
Remove 2 squares that are at the top and bottom edge of the bag that are 1 1/4 x 1/2 and 1 x 1/2.   See the red x’s?

Cut the tabs: cut up 1 ¼ “ from the bottom. See my red lines? Notch the tabs by this, remove a little big extra from the tabs so it folds smoothly.

Now close the bag - see my tear n tape below?

This bag is symmetrical so just fold it flat.

Make sure the cuff is folded over and adhere the bag together.  You’ll need to glue down the 2 corners of your cuff, I used liquid glue.  See my bone folder pointing to where you glue?

Now close the box at the bottom, make sure the bag is "square".

Punch 4  1/8”  holes in the top.  Add 10” ribbon to each side of the bag. If you put something heavy inside add a piece cardboard at the bottom to reinforce it.

And here it is finished! Just perfect for cards. Or anything really!

Hope you make one!  Happy crafting MaryKate
