Merry Music Cards in an Acetate Box with Real Red Ribbon

My neighbor thought this would be the perfect gift for a music teacher or choir director.  The box with ribbon and tag make it a nice gift.  I love the black and white music paper with a pop of real red and emerald envy.

You can make your cards vertical (aka “MK”) or horizontal (aka “Betty”). This paper is pretty and it’s a little thinner so you get 24 sheets to a pack and being thinner it makes for nice envelopes or a decoration on an envelope.

The cards
Base 5 ½ x 8 ½
Black layer 5 3/8  x 4 1/8
Music paper layer 5 ¼ x 4
Red chevron piece is designer paper from the Quilt pack: 1 x 3, triple banner punch the end.

About 6” of gold or silver sequin trim.
Punched out Holly shapes with the Holly Berry Builder Punch in Emerald Envy (I think this black and white look needs the pop of Emerald Envy)

1 large circle and 1 larger scallop circle (real red) from Layering Circles die set
1 large oval and 1 large circle (real red and whisper white) using the layering ovals dies

When you layer the cards, the  white paper has a black layer but the black music paper doesn't... as I thought one card needed this but not the other.

Stamp the greetings using the Watercolor Christmas stamp set either real red or basic black. I prefer the red, what do you think?

Adhere the sequin in a loop, I used 3 glue dots.  One to hold the bottom layer of trim to the red chevron and then another one for the 2nd layer of trim (where they overlap) and then a dot to secure it to the greeting.

Decorate your envelope flaps with Merry Music paper 21/4 x 6 (trim). I like to put the adhesive on the envelope, attach the paper and then trim.

Put into the acetate box and wrap the 18”  ribbon around the box. Secure the ribbon with a glue dot.

Make the tag about 4 ¼ x 2 whisper white (I like the thick card stock for tags), decorate with a Merry Music 1 ½ x 3 basic black 1 5/8 x 3 1/8 –punch with the scallop tag topper and add the ribbon (about 7-8”)

I hope you make it!  This project is part of our online classes this year.  This class includes 2 cards, 2 envelopes, the acetate box, the ribbon and the tag ingredients.  And of course all the circle/oval layers, the quilted red paper chevrons and the sequin trim.  There's extra trim in case, like me, you want to add a few extra sequins to the front of the cards!

Happy stamping - MaryKate
