Simple Valentines from Petal Passion Memories and More Cardds

Yesterday I posted on the invitations I made for Big Event.

While I was creating the invitations, these 3 larger cards (4 x 6 trimmed to 4 x 5 1/4) popped out for me.  I thought they'd make cute Valentine's cards for my sweetie.

He's travelling a lot these days, so I put one of these in his bag and the other 2 I'll post to him at the job site.  Still crazy in love... I'm a lucky woman!

Rose gold embossing with Amazing You

Ok… so there is no such thing as Rose Gold embossing powder, but rose gold is all the rage (just bought myself a new watch and it was rose gold).

Anyway… my challenge this week was to learn a new technique, so I picked embossing, in particular embossing on vellum and using embossing with our new Stampin Blends.

Here is the inspiration card on the right from my sister in law, and on the left embossing with clear embossing and blends (pool party).  It’s pretty in person, shiny and very subtle.

Then I mixed clear and silver – but it turned out silver (right) and then I mixed silver with white and it was pretty – a light shimmery silver (left), then I colored with the Pool party blends.

Then silver powder with copper (and a bit of the white to lighten it) and wow.. Rose gold!

I also wanted to get better at stamping on vellum.  Tips:  use the lower heat setting and make sure not to scorch the vellum.  You’ll see I did a few greetings in black embossing and some with a mixture of black and silver.  So you have a favorite?

Blends to add color, a bit of twine just like the inspiration card.  If I had more time, I’d have stamped, colored and cut out the flowers and then inserted vellum leaves under the flowers.  But I have to go to work now!!

Next class in Feb 24 with Picture Perfect, get the stamp set and inks and all supplies to make 14 projects $42 RSVP essential – in person Hartland and ONLINE.

Petal Passion Invitations to Big Event

It’s Big Event time – woo hoo!  Sat March 17 11-4 is the day, Pittsfield ME.
I sent out invitations using the Petal Passion Memories and More Card Kit.  You get 72 cards in the box, with stickers and embellishments.  I made them into cards!

Here are some card with the smaller 3 x 4 cards.

And some with the larger 4 x 6 cards that I trimmed to 4 x 5 ¼.

These were begging for color from the new Stampin Blends!

And these needed a little extra sparkle so I created a watery glue (50:50 glue water), tapped the glue on the card and sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds on top.  Random sparkles.

Some I layered more “evenly” and some with an Angel-wonky look!

Our paper goes through a printer really easily so I just printed up the invitations and layered on the cards.  I like that they are all a bit different.

If you’d like an invitation, just email me MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com and I’ll put one in the mail.

More details to come and later this month I’ll post some of the projects (12 in all, cards, 3D items, greeting card holders, and more.)  Demos 11-12, Lunch included 12-1, 1-4 stamping and crafting.  A Fruit Basket stamp set is included in your $35 registration fee. Of course there will be prizes! It's a party!  RSVP essential, you know that...

PS… if you are coming to Big Event, bring your invitation… it will be great inspiration!!

And yes.. the new Stamparatus will be there to play with... :)

Congratulations Cathy Jones on your Silver promotion!!

In the Stampin Up world, promoting to Silver is a big deal.  It’s exciting to celebrate worthwhile accomplishments and take that moment to go… wow… Cathy Jones did it!!

I had a good time creating this box of silver goodies for Cathy - snowflakes, bows, sequins, ribbons, foil paper, acetate... and I thought the Dapper Denim set off the silver.  Sorry I forget to take a photo of her silver congratulations card!!

Being a demonstrator is a lot of fun.  Anyone can be a SU demonstrator and in my team, you do it the way YOU want to do it.  You can enjoy your hobby and the 20% off products, you can create a business like Cathy, whatever YOU want.

My team loves getting all my tutorials free, appreciates the opportunity to borrow any set or dies I own or has fun hanging out with the "demo gang" in person and online, and others are creating great businesses supported with training and coaching.  I'm here to support you as a demo, in the way that you choose.   I love that YOU choose how YOU will be a demonstrator.  It’s easy to sign up and you can change your mind, I don’t “do” obligations.

We love stamping … and it turns out, nice people stamp.  (I know you know this!) We have team mates from many states and we have a great time together in person and online.  We are a very "chill" group. Our online chat and online "competitions" get us creative and winning stamp sets.   I’m so proud of my team:  those that achieve goals and promotions and those that simply love to stamp and get a good deal!

If you were a demonstrator and decided to drop your account, maybe you'd like to consider rejoining. (Yup you're allowed to :).

It's a great time to do so (2 free stamp sets, $125 product that you pick for $99, free shipping). and I'd love to have you join us. I think you'll have a lot of fun with our team.   Send me an email, text me, let’s chat.  MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

Why not save 20% off all the products you love with no contracts to buy further product?

Happy celebrating Cathy!!
Well done YOU!!

Non-Traditional Valentines from Stamps you own

I love helping people get more out of stamp sets they own.

Here's a few Valentine's Day card ideas from sets that were very popular in the past few years.

Sheltering Tree has a lot of fun sayings and images.

Great to make the tree "bloom" by adding a stamp with markers or dots.

And the Hot Air Balloon set that was so popular.  Here's a simple "love is in the air".

This paper is from the Magical set - but you could create your own designer paper with the cloud stamp.

I hope you look through ALL your sets and get creative with making Valentines!

Happy Valentine Stamping! MaryKate

PS Don't forget the host code, and it's Sale-A-Bration time so for every $50 you spend you choose a free item.

Quick update on the Bubble & Fizz box

One of the great things about teaching is you learn how others learn!!

We made these at class yesterday and a few people said... it would be great to have a photo with all the pieces cut off!!  Here it is!!  On the left with pieces cut out, then the right you punch out the opening with the Modern Label Punch (or we found out last night - the "I" die if you have the alphabet!)

We all agreed this one is fun fast and easy - see yesterday's post for all the how-to!

Happy crafting
Don't forget, this Bubble & Fizz paper is free with a $50 order!

Bubble and Fizz Chocolate Valentine Box

At class last week one of our crafters was talking about making this box.  So I thought, why not redo it with the pretty new Bubble and Fizz paper with the hearts?  This paper is part of Sale-A-Bration, and is a free item (12 sheets of designer paper) with a $50 order.

It’s Calypso Coral and I think it’s really pretty.

Super easy and great to make if you want to make one for everyone (you know I love my bankers, my snow plow guy, my post office workers, town office, doctor’s office… ) I think it’s fun to give out Valentine’s and make someone smile.

Here's the open version - the heart is the closure.

And there's room inside to write a note (or on the back)

It's also very "paper efficient" as you get 3 from each piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.

Here’s the original post with detailed instructions and all dimensions.

Hope you make some!

Happy Valentine’s crafting, MaryKate
