Ok…
so there is no such thing as Rose Gold embossing powder, but rose gold is all
the rage (just bought myself a new watch and it was rose gold).
Anyway…
my challenge this week was to learn a new technique, so I picked embossing, in
particular embossing on vellum and using embossing with our new Stampin
Blends.
Here
is the inspiration card on the right from my sister in law, and on the left
embossing with clear embossing and blends (pool party). It’s pretty in person, shiny and very subtle.
Then
I mixed clear and silver – but it turned out silver (right) and then I mixed
silver with white and it was pretty – a light shimmery silver (left), then I colored with the Pool party blends.
Then
silver powder
with copper (and a bit of the white to lighten it) and wow.. Rose gold!
I
also wanted to get better at stamping on vellum. Tips:
use the lower heat setting and make sure not to scorch the vellum. You’ll see I did a few greetings in black
embossing and some with a mixture of black and silver. So you have a favorite?
Blends
to add
color, a
bit of
twine just
like the
inspiration
card. If
I had
more time,
I’d have
stamped,
colored
and cut
out the
flowers
and then
inserted
vellum leaves
under the
flowers. But I
have to
go to work now!!
