At Home ... all lit up

We had a fun class last weekend with At Home projects. If you type in "At Home" in the search bar to your right you'll see our projects.

During class I realized that we could cut out the window in the door AND in the panel behind the door.  I put in a tea light behind the card and then it looked like "someone was home"... so cute!

To make the stepper card
Cut the paper 10 x 4 ¼
Cut 2 slits up the side 1” from the bottom 5” long
Score 1” from the bottom just to the slits
Score 2” from the bottom just to the slits
Score at 5” from the bottom only in the middle of the card
Score at 6” from the bottom just to the slits
Once cut, washi tape the brick mask to the front of the card, spread the embossing paste lightly/thinly across the bricks (just the sides of the paper).  Let it dry!
While the paste is drying – pretty quick – wash the mask and tools right away!
Stamp out the door on the wood designer paper
Run through the bigshot on the outside
Run through again to create an open door – make sure the door opens to the right J yup made that mistake and had my door open the wrong way!
Cut out the window in the door
Stamp the flowers, wreath and welcome using archival ink or Stazon
Color in first and then run through the big shot (easier to color large pieces of paper)
If you wish stamp a greeting behind the door. Stamp the welcome mat.
Attach the door, mat, wreath and flowers.  Stamp a greeting inside the card.
Make an envelope to fit the card.

Happy Stamping!!  MaryKate
