Update to the Sea Turtles Coat of Many Colors

I had so many nice comments on my earlier post using Sea Turtle and the "coat of many colors" technique.

I thought I'd show you some new ideas and colors.

This one (above) uses Mango Melody, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis.

And for a faster technique, you can use brighly colored designer paper. Check out this option with the new Floral paper in our new Mini Catalog. Tip: use very bright paper with many colors. I'm showing you the paper on the left and the card front on the right.

To create with this technique, there are 3 simple steps

1.    Put color on a piece of white 5 ¼ x 4, I used Tide, Mango, Parakeet and Orchid. I used inks with blending brushes, you could use daubers or other coloring tools.  Try NOT to overlap colors. You could use DSP

2.    Stamp the images with versamark. I stamped turtles, fish, weeds, stars and sand dollars.  Cover with CLEAR embossing powder and set with the heat tool. Tip: stamp the emboss the turtles, heat.  Now stamp and emboss the next image and heat.  This 3-4 step process makes it easier to see where your images are!

3.
Cover the whole card with a dark ink, I used Starry Sky by spreading the ink pad on the stamped images.  See below.  Wipe the card “clean” with a paper towel, removing the starry sky from the images and letting the color show through.

4.    Add to a card base, I used the In Color Card Bases.

5.    Add a greeting, I used 2 different options both from the Whale Done set.

So fun, I hope you try it!
