Sea Turtles using the "coat of many colors" technique

Sea Turtle - check it out page 29 in the New Mini Catalog

A "coat of many colors" technique is really cool and super easy.  If you look closely, the card has the turtle, fish, seaweed and sea life in many different colors.

To create this technique, there are 3 simple steps

1.     Put color on a piece of white 5 ¼ x 4, I used Tide, Balmy, Coastal, Bermuda and Highland Heather. I used inks with blending brushes, you could use daubers or other coloring tools.

2.     Stamp the images with versamark. I stamped turtles, fish, weeds, stars and sand dollars.  Cover with CLEAR embossing powder and set with the heat tool

3.     Cover the whole card with a dark ink, I used Starry Sky by spreading the ink pad on the stamped images.  Wipe the card “clean” with a tissue, removing the starry sky from the images and letting the color show through.  Add to a card base

Add a greeting, I used 2 different options both from the Whale Done set.

And if you love this and want to try it, this project will be part of our Crafty Day in Palmyra Maine Jan 21.  It's one of 7 fun things we'll make that day.
