Chocolate Bar "Book" for Valentine's Treats

Do you remember Lifesaver "books"?  This is a different take on that.. with 2 Hershey bars.

As I created this treat holder, I learned a few things about Hershey Bars!  They come in slightly different sizes, with some longer, some shorter, some wider and some curvier!  So there are 2 options to make this Chocolate Book.

If you use the Dark Hershey Bars, they are longer and skinner so you cut your paper accordingly.  Cut the paper 6 1/2 x 5 3/4, score on the short side 2 3/8, 2 7/8, the top layer is x 2 x 6 1/4 embossed

If you use the Almond Bars, they are short but curvier, so cut your paper a little shorter but a little wider to accomodate the curve. Cut the paper 6 x 5 1/4 score on the short side 2 1/4, 2 1/2, top layer is 2 x 5 3/4

To decorate, I added a top layer and dry embossed it with the new Gingham embossing folder (any folder will work well!)

I adhere by Chocolate bars to the Early Express cardstock, wrapped a ribbon (about 28") and decorated the front with the embossed top layer and 2 hearts.  I chose a gold foil heart for the Almond bars.

We are making this project at our Valentines Day party this Sunday Feb 6 3pm by Zoom (so all can join in).  Let me know if you'd like to be part of the team and this party!  We have some fun games and creativity planned.  You can reach me on MaryKate@MaryKateScott.com

I'm highly recommending you buy the 6 pack of Hershey bars.. you'll want to make an extra "book" and it's possible that between the grocery store and home... 1 might disappear .. and maybe as you make them you might need a snack?

Happy crafting! MaryKate
