Jar of Flowers Team Swap

Our team is coast to coast and when a new catalog comes out we sign up for a swap where we make identical cards and mail them out. That way we have new ideas, samples to share at our classes and on our blogs. I'll have my team mates creations posted June 4-June11 right here!

Here's mine. I chose the Jar of Flower set. There's a matching Jar punch but this card didn't need punching.

Here are several variations.

These 2 in Misty Moonlight with different ribbon and different paper - which do you like? Do you see they have different ribbon? and one has a lable and one doesn't (I might use it as a thank you or birthday).

I love the matching paper and used the "second side" for the back layer (5 1/2 x 4 1/4). I matched the paper to the solid cardstock using new in colors: Jade, Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight (cardstock is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4).  The Whisper White is 3 1/4 x 3 1/2.

Tips:  Stamp the jar, then stamp the stems, making sure the stems go to the bottom of the rim not the top of the jar (otherwise they look like they float!).  You'll cover the top part of the jar with ribbon and a knot a bit later.

Color your stems, I used Dark Pool Party blend but your markers, watercolor pencils, a blender pen - will all work great! Use what you have!

Stamp the flowers (also in Memento black) and color in (I used blends, any coloring tool will work).

Once your top layer is done, use the reverse of the large jar stamp and stamp with versamark, cover with clear embossing powder and melt the powder with your heat tool so the jar looks like it's holding water.  You could have black embossing your flowers if you wish.

I covered the rim with ribbon, then added a knot with a glue dot.  For each of the cards I "auditioned" different ribbons, this one I think is better with the Jade gingham, the Bumblebee makes it just too much yellow!

Here is the card without the knot... the knot adds!

Don't forget to decorate your envelope with DSP scraps - mine measure 3/4 x 4.

This is a really fun set.

While making these swaps I got a big smudge on the front of a card, tomorrow I'll post how I fixed it.

Don't forget to subscribe to be sure to get all my posts. I always include measurements, tips, ideas and variations!

Stay tuned for swap cards from my team mates... I know they will be amazing.
