In-Color Class Saturday June 3 with Fresh Florals

Today the new catalog launches!  2pm EDT we can order!

It's fun to get new colors!  Each year Stampin Up gives us 5 new in-colors that stay around for 2 years.  This year it's Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst (wouldn't you love to be on the naming committee!)

So for our class this Saturday, you'll choose 1 of these designer sheets in the in-colors (2 patterns in each color, so a lot of choice) and we'll each make a medium gift bag and 2 or 3 cards.

I've chosen Fresh Fig below (the color is a deep maroon).

You'll cut off 8 1/4 x 12 for the bag, score on the long side at 4 1/4, 5 3/4, 10, 11 1/2 and the short side a 1 and 7 - the 7 is the bottom (think directional patterns!).  Fold on the score lines, making sure the top "cuff" goes over the bag.  Trim off one corner (1/2 x 1 on the lower right), trim tabs and fold into a bag.

Now card choices... I've decided to use my piece of 3 3/4 x 12 for 3 cards.  A gate fold card (so 2 pieces cut 1 7/8 x 5 1/4) a "pattern block" card where I take a piece 3 3/4 x 3 and cut it into 1" strips, and finally there's a piece with a whole "flower arrangement", so I cut that out and put it on the front of the card with a 1/2 strip of matching fig paper.

Did you see the Thank you cards from yesterday?  This is the same idea but I'm not sure if I'll make a thank you or a sympathy or what.  There was a tiny strip left so I decorated the front of the notecard envelope.

To the left is Tranquil Tide, I wanted cards that featured the paper, so I cut my 3 3/4 x 12 into 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 (2 of these) for the gate fold; and a piece 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 for the Happy Birthday card.

A large "lots of label" and some stamping with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set and done!

The other "label" with the gate fold is from the new "Label me Pretty set".

I love the matching ribbon that goes with this paper!

If you'd like to join us just let me know!
