Color Revamp and New Ink Pads

Stampin up announced fabulous on-trend new colors and a new ink pad design.  So this is a long post to provide you with all the details.

NEW CLASSIC STAMPIN’ PADS
In addition to new colors, Stampin’ Up! redesigned their ink pads. The case is a new, more intuitive design and they improved the formula of the ink, as well!   How many times at workshops do help each other open the ink pads??  Here's the new design.

Why the change to the case?
The case’s manufacturing mold was about to expire. Stampin’ Up! can only use a mold a limited number of times before they need to replace it, so they had to decide if they wanted to order more of the same molds or try to improve the design.   They chose to improve it!  Smart!

Stampin’ Up! wanted to align the updated case with the color revamp and improvements to the ink. In addition, they chose to time these changes with StampinUp!’s rebranding and packaging updates. This way, when you invest in the new colors, you are also getting the new and improved ink pads at the same time!

What’s better about the case?
  • Less confusing to open.
  • Tighter fit between the lid and the base.
  • Stackable.
  • Improved labels and stickers.
A few photos to show you the new vs the old case

How is the ink different?
  • Reduced ink bubbles.
  • Smoother coating of ink on the stamp.
  • Improved ink coverage.

You can re-ink the new ink pads with old re-inkers, you just won’t get the benefit of the defoamer that’s been added to the new re-inkers. The only exception to this is, you don’t want to use the Archival Basic Gray Re-inker on the new pads because it will ruin it.

Yes the new ink pads fit into our color caddies!

Next post, I'll show you all the wonderful new colors!

Barn door class - all cut and the prize packed and ready to go!

Tomorrow is our Barn Door class!  A big class and I'm finally all ready to go.

I also finished packaging up our door prize, everyone who comes to class gets a ticket in the draw to win a prize. It's different every week but usually involves paper, ribbon and embellishments.

Tomorrow it's a Soft Sky set with designer paper (Eclectic Design), cardstock, matching ribbon and the matching ink.  When your paper matches your ink, ribbon and designer paper, crafting is so much easier and projects look so wow, so professional!

Our class has the above 2 projects and the Celebrate card I posted last Saturday.

Here's another sample of this fun Barn Door set
Click here to see other Barn Door cards

See you tomorrow if you are coming, or sign up for a class (see the tab Events & Workshops), and stay tuned as I'll soon announce our next online class.

Beautiful Day Butterflies with Blends

Headed to Onstage and here are my swaps!!

It's always fun to gather with a huge group of demonstrators and this April 6/7 we are in Hartford with 750 fun colleagues.

We swap cards to celebrate OnStage, being together and get new ideas.

After playing with the Blends and many colors options, I went with the Pool Party look.

Here's a few of the many I'll  swap with my team.  As soon as I get back on Sunday April 8 I'll post swaps I get back.

Fruit Basket Post It Notes

I promise this will be my (second) last fruit basket project!!

I just love this set.  Hopefully the photo shows you how these stand up and also lie flat for mailing.

This is fun and easy.  Thick Whisper White is 2 3/4 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and 2 1/8.  The second piece of Thick Whisper White (for the front) is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4

Cut the solid layer 2 1/2 x 4 1/4, then the Fruit paper 2 x 4 (very paper efficient - LOL!)

Layer the front pieces, add a greeting, don't forget a little piece of fruit!!  Glue the front piece on the scored part of the cover (just the front part that is sized 2 3/4 x 2 1/8 so it can stand up and lie flat).

Insert the fruit post it notes. I got mine on Amazon, here are the details (8 for $9.99)

Aimeio Creative Fruit Sticky Notes Memo Pad N Times Stickers Memo Flags Sticky Bookmark for Office School Supply,8 Pads/Pack,30 Sheets/Pad

I love the kiwi and strawberry ones. Do you have a favorite?

My last fruit project???  I'm making these with 3D post it pads - stay tuned!
